Product Overview
The Severin KA 4810 is an automatic drip coffee maker designed for convenience and quality. It features an integrated grinder, allowing you to brew coffee from either whole beans or pre-ground coffee. The programmable timer ensures your coffee is ready when you need it, and the automatic shut-off function provides peace of mind.

Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all parts are present.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the glass carafe, lid, and filter basket in warm, soapy water. Wipe the exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth. Run two full cycles with only water to clean the internal components.
- Placement: Place the coffee maker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from edges and heat sources.
- Fill Water Reservoir: Open the water tank lid and fill the reservoir with fresh, cold water up to the desired cup marking. Do not exceed the maximum fill line.

Operation
Control Panel Overview
The control panel features an LCD display for time and settings, along with buttons for Hour, Minute, Brew/Off, Program (Prog), and Clean. These buttons allow you to set the clock, program brewing times, and initiate cleaning cycles.
Using Whole Coffee Beans (with Grinder)
- Ensure the filter basket is in place with a paper filter or the reusable mesh filter.
- Open the bean hopper lid and add whole coffee beans. The capacity is approximately 200g.
- Select your desired grind setting (refer to the appliance for specific grind adjustment options).
- Close the bean hopper lid securely.
Using Pre-Ground Coffee
- Ensure the filter basket is in place.
- Place a paper filter into the filter basket, or use the provided reusable mesh filter.
- Add the desired amount of pre-ground coffee into the filter. Use approximately one scoop (provided) per cup, adjusting to taste.

Brewing Coffee
- After filling the water reservoir and adding coffee (beans or ground), place the glass carafe on the heating plate.
- Press the Brew/Off button to start the brewing process immediately. The indicator light will illuminate.
- The coffee maker will automatically shut off after approximately 35 minutes.
Programming the Timer
- Set the current time using the Hour and Minute buttons.
- Press the Prog button. The program indicator will flash.
- Use the Hour and Minute buttons to set your desired brew time.
- Press the Prog button again to confirm. The program indicator will remain illuminated, and the coffee maker will start brewing at the set time.
Care and Maintenance
Daily Cleaning
- Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before cleaning.
- Wash the glass carafe, lid, and filter basket after each use with warm, soapy water. These parts are not dishwasher safe.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Empty and clean the bean hopper regularly if using whole beans.
Descaling
Regular descaling is essential to maintain optimal performance and extend the life of your coffee maker. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage.
- When the Clean indicator illuminates, it is time to descale the appliance.
- Fill the water reservoir with a descaling solution (e.g., white vinegar and water, or a commercial descaler) according to the product's instructions.
- Place an empty carafe on the heating plate.
- Press the Clean button to start the descaling cycle.
- After the cycle, run several cycles with fresh water to rinse the system thoroughly.
Troubleshooting
- Coffee not brewing: Check if the appliance is plugged in, the water reservoir is filled, and the carafe is correctly placed.
- Weak coffee: Ensure you are using the correct amount of coffee grounds/beans for the water volume. Check grind setting if using whole beans.
- Overflowing filter basket: Do not overfill the filter basket. Ensure the filter is properly seated.
- Grinder not working: Check if the bean hopper lid is securely closed. Ensure there are beans in the hopper.
- Coffee tastes bad: Clean the coffee maker thoroughly, including descaling. Use fresh, quality coffee and filtered water.
