Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the coffee machine and all accessories from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, clean all removable parts (carafe, filter holder) with warm soapy water. Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
- First Brew Cycle (without coffee):
- Fill the water tank with fresh cold water up to the MAX level.
- Place an empty filter paper (size 1x4 or similar) into the filter holder.
- Place the carafe on the warming plate.
- Plug the appliance into a suitable power outlet.
- Press the power button to start a brewing cycle. Allow the full cycle to complete.
- Discard the water from the carafe. This process cleans the internal components and removes any manufacturing residues.
Operating Instructions
- Filling the Water Tank: Open the lid of the water tank and fill it with fresh, cold water. Use the water level indicator on the side of the machine to measure the desired number of cups (1.25 liters for 10-15 cups). Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
- Inserting the Filter: Swivel out the filter holder. Insert a paper filter (size 1x4) or the reusable filter into the filter holder.
- Adding Coffee Grounds: Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is one level tablespoon of coffee per cup (approx. 7g per cup), but adjust to your personal taste. Swivel the filter holder back into place.
- Placing the Carafe: Ensure the glass carafe is empty and correctly positioned on the warming plate. The anti-drip system will only function properly if the carafe is in place.
- Selecting Aroma (Optional): Press the "AROMA" button to adjust the coffee strength. This feature allows for a pre-brew cycle to enhance flavor extraction for a more intense coffee.
- Starting the Brewing Process: Plug the power cord into a wall outlet. Press the main power button to start the brewing cycle. The indicator light will illuminate.
- Anti-Drip System: The machine is equipped with an anti-drip system, allowing you to temporarily remove the carafe during brewing to pour a cup of coffee. Replace the carafe within 20 seconds to prevent overflow.
- Keep Warm Function: After brewing, the machine automatically enters a keep-warm mode, maintaining the coffee's temperature for approximately 30 minutes.
- Automatic Shut-off: For safety and energy saving, the coffee machine will automatically switch off 30 minutes after the brewing process is complete or after the keep-warm cycle ends.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your coffee machine.
Daily Cleaning:
- Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Remove the filter holder and discard the used coffee grounds and filter paper.
- Wash the carafe and filter holder in warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are generally dishwasher safe (check manual for specific model).
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
Descaling:
Mineral deposits from water can build up in your coffee machine over time, affecting performance and coffee taste. Descale your machine regularly, depending on water hardness and frequency of use (e.g., every 2-3 months).
- Prepare a descaling solution according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions, or use a mixture of white vinegar and water (e.g., 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water).
- Pour the descaling solution into the water tank.
- Place an empty filter paper in the filter holder and the empty carafe on the warming plate.
- Start a brewing cycle. Allow half of the solution to brew through, then turn off the machine and let it sit for 15-20 minutes to allow the solution to work.
- Turn the machine back on and allow the remaining solution to brew through.
- After the descaling cycle, run at least two full cycles with fresh, cold water only to rinse the machine thoroughly and remove any residual descaler taste.
