Features and Design
Compact and Portable Design
The UMX Conscendo is scaled down from the popular Conscendo Evolution 1.5m, making it suitable for soaring, sport flying, and high-energy aerobatics in more locations and smaller spaces. Its removable wing, secured with a quarter-turn thumbscrew, allows for convenient storage and transport.

Powerful and Efficient Power System
Equipped with a powerful 2S and 3S compatible brushless power system, featuring an outrunner motor and a folding propeller. This setup provides ample power for various flight styles while the folding propeller reduces drag during gliding.
Durable Construction
The airframe is constructed with composite reinforcement, ensuring durability. Strong and precise ball-link equipped linkages provide reliable control surface movement.
Enhanced Control and Stability
The model includes optional-use flaperons and spoilerons, offering added capabilities for flight control and maneuverability. It also features AS3X and optional SAFE Select technologies for improved stability and ease of flying, especially for intermediate pilots.
Setup and Assembly
The E-flite UMX Conscendo BNF Basic comes largely pre-assembled. Final assembly primarily involves attaching the removable wing and ensuring all linkages are correctly connected. Refer to the included UMX Conscendo Product Manual for detailed step-by-step instructions.
Wing Attachment
- Carefully align the wing with the fuselage.
- Connect any necessary wiring from the wing to the fuselage, ensuring proper orientation.
- Secure the wing using the quarter-turn thumbscrew. Ensure it is snug but do not overtighten.
Battery Installation
- Open the battery hatch on the fuselage.
- Insert a fully charged 2S or 3S LiPo battery (1300-2200mAh recommended) into the battery compartment.
- Connect the battery to the ESC.
- Secure the battery within the compartment to prevent shifting during flight.
- Close the battery hatch.
Operating Instructions
Pre-Flight Checks
- Ensure the flight battery is fully charged and securely installed.
- Verify that your Spektrum DSMX/DSM2 transmitter is properly bound to the aircraft.
- Check all control surfaces (ailerons, elevator, rudder) for correct movement and direction relative to stick inputs.
- Inspect the propeller for any damage and ensure it folds correctly.
- Perform a range check of your radio system before the first flight of the day.
Takeoff
The UMX Conscendo is designed for hand launching. Hold the aircraft firmly, apply full throttle, and gently toss it forward into the wind. The AS3X and SAFE Select technologies will assist in maintaining stable flight.

Landing
Approach the landing area into the wind. Reduce throttle and use elevator and rudder for controlled descent. For precise landings, especially in smaller areas, consider activating spoilerons if configured. Aim for a gentle touchdown on soft grass or a clear surface.
Maintenance
- Post-Flight Inspection: After each flight, inspect the airframe, propeller, and control surfaces for any damage or loose connections.
- Battery Care: Always store LiPo batteries at a storage charge level and in a fire-safe container. Do not overcharge or over-discharge batteries.
- Motor and ESC: Ensure the motor spins freely and the ESC connections are secure. Avoid prolonged exposure to dirt or moisture.
- Control Linkages: Periodically check ball-link equipped linkages for wear and ensure they move smoothly without binding.
- Cleaning: Clean the aircraft with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals that could damage the foam material.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Aircraft does not respond to controls | Unbound transmitter/receiver; low battery; loose connections | Re-bind transmitter; charge/replace battery; check all wiring connections. |
| Poor flight performance/instability | Incorrect CG; damaged control surface; motor/propeller issue | Adjust battery position for correct Center of Gravity; inspect and repair/replace damaged parts; check propeller balance. |
| Motor not spinning | ESC not armed; motor/ESC fault; loose battery connection | Ensure throttle is at zero before connecting battery; check ESC/motor for damage; secure battery connection. |
| Short flight times | Battery not fully charged; old/damaged battery; aggressive flying | Ensure battery is fully charged; replace old/damaged battery; practice smoother flying techniques. |
