Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit.
  2. Slide the cover open in the direction indicated by the arrow.
  3. Insert the required batteries (typically AA, refer to the compartment for exact type and polarity) ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as marked inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Earbud Connection

  • Insert the 3.5mm plug of the stereo earbuds into the "EARPHONE" jack located on the side of the unit.

3. Attaching the Belt Clip

  • Align the detachable belt clip with the designated slots on the back of the recorder.
  • Slide the clip into place until it clicks securely.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

  • To power on the unit, select either the "TAPE" or "RADIO" function.
  • To power off, ensure the function switch is in the "OFF" position.

2. Cassette Playback

  1. Open the cassette compartment door.
  2. Insert a cassette tape with the open edge facing upwards and the tape side facing the playback head.
  3. Close the cassette compartment door firmly.
  4. Set the function switch to "TAPE".
  5. Press the PLAY button to begin playback.
  6. Adjust the VOLUME control to your desired listening level.
  7. Use the FAST FORWARD (FF) or REWIND (REW) buttons to navigate through the tape.
  8. Press the STOP button to halt playback or recording.

3. AM/FM Radio Operation

  1. Set the function switch to "RADIO".
  2. Select either "AM" or "FM" using the band selector switch.
  3. Rotate the TUNING dial to find your desired radio station.
  4. Adjust the VOLUME control.
  5. For optimal FM reception, extend the telescopic antenna. For AM reception, rotate the unit for best signal.

4. Recording Audio

The CVR-28 features a built-in microphone for recording.

  1. Insert a blank or recordable cassette tape into the cassette compartment.
  2. Set the function switch to "TAPE".
  3. Press the RECORD button (usually red). The PLAY button will also engage simultaneously.
  4. Speak clearly towards the built-in microphone. Ensure the recording environment is quiet for best results.
  5. To stop recording, press the STOP button.
  6. To listen to your recording, rewind the tape and press PLAY.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Unit

  • Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
  • Periodically clean the tape heads and pinch roller with a specialized cassette head cleaning kit for optimal sound quality.

Battery Care

  • Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Replace all batteries at the same time with new ones of the same type.
