4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Placement

  1. Carefully remove all packaging materials from the BeerTender machine.
  2. Place the machine on a flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit, leaving at least 10 cm (4 inches) of space on all sides.
  3. Insert the removable drip tray into its designated slot at the base of the machine.

4.2 Keg Preparation and Installation

For optimal performance, it is recommended to pre-chill your 5-liter keg in a refrigerator for at least 10-12 hours before inserting it into the BeerTender machine.

  1. Open the top lid of the BeerTender machine.
  2. Remove the protective cap from the keg's tap connector.
  3. Carefully insert the 5-liter keg into the machine's compartment. Ensure it sits securely.
  4. Connect the BeerTender tap mechanism to the keg. This usually involves aligning and pushing down until it clicks into place. Refer to the specific keg's instructions for precise connection details.

4.3 Power Connection

Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. The machine will begin the cooling process, and the temperature indicator will activate.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Cooling and Monitoring

Once powered on, the BeerTender will cool the keg to the optimal serving temperature of 4°C (39°F). The cooling process can take several hours if the keg was not pre-chilled. Monitor the temperature indicator; a steady green light signifies that the ideal temperature has been reached and the beer is ready to be served.

The remaining volume indicator will provide an estimate of the beer left in the keg, allowing you to plan for replacement.

5.2 Dispensing Beer

  1. Place a clean glass under the tap.
  2. To achieve the perfect pour with the right amount of foam, tilt the glass at a 45-degree angle initially.
  3. Pull the tap handle forward to start dispensing beer.
  4. As the glass fills, gradually straighten it until it is upright.
  5. Release the tap handle to stop the flow of beer.
