2. Safety Information
WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions may result in serious injury or death. Always prioritize safety during operation, maintenance, and transport.
- Always read and understand all instructions and warnings before operating the unit.
- Ensure the unit is properly installed, grounded, and connected to the specified power supply by a qualified electrician.
- Never operate the machine with the access door open. A door interlock system prevents motor operation unless the door is securely closed.
- In case of emergency, immediately press the mushroom-head emergency stop button to instantly shut down the unit.
- The pressure relief valve prevents overload, but do not attempt to crush items beyond the machine's rated capacity or intended use.
- Only crush ribbed steel drums. Do not attempt to crush smooth-walled drums, as this can cause damage to the machine and potential injury due to improper crushing.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves.
- Keep hands, feet, and clothing clear of all moving parts and the crushing chamber during operation.
- Ensure the work area is clear of bystanders and obstructions.

3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking and Placement
Carefully unpack the unit from its shipping container. The machine is equipped with built-in fork pockets to facilitate safe transportation and precise positioning using a forklift. Ensure the unit is placed on a level, stable, and structurally sound surface capable of supporting its weight (approximately 1160 lbs) and the dynamic forces generated during operation.

3.2 Electrical Connection
Connect the unit to a dedicated 208 Volt Three Phase power supply. All electrical connections must be performed by a qualified and licensed electrician in accordance with all applicable national and local electrical codes and standards.
3.3 Hydraulic Fluid
Before initial operation, verify that the hydraulic fluid reservoir is filled to the appropriate level with the manufacturer-recommended hydraulic fluid. Refer to the product's specific documentation for fluid type and capacity.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Crushing Drums
- Ensure the unit is powered on and the emergency stop button is released.
- Open the access door of the crushing chamber.
- Place a ribbed steel drum (up to 55 gallons) inside the crushing chamber. Ensure the drum is centered on the base plate.
- Close the access door securely. The door interlock system must engage for the unit to operate.
- Activate the crushing cycle using the illuminated on/off switch. The unit will apply 38,000 lbs of force to flatten the drum to approximately 6 inches in about 25 seconds.
- The unit will automatically reset after the crushing cycle is complete, retracting the platen.
- Open the door and carefully remove the crushed drum.

4.2 Compacting Contents
The unit can also compact contents within 55-gallon drums. This feature requires the removal of the drum crushing platen.
- Before compacting, remove the drum crushing platen according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Place the 55-gallon drum with contents into the chamber.
- Close the door and initiate the compacting cycle using the on/off switch.
- The machine will compact the contents. The unit will automatically reset upon completion.
- Open the door and remove the drum.
4.3 Drip Pan
The included drip pan should always be in place at the base of the unit to collect any spills or leaks during operation, helping to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
5. Maintenance

- Regular Cleaning: Keep the unit clean, especially the crushing chamber, platen, and hydraulic components, to ensure optimal performance and prevent debris buildup.
