Command BATH31-SN-ES Heavy Duty Shower Caddy Instruction Manual

Model: BATH31-SN-ES

Introduction

The Command BATH31-SN-ES Heavy Duty Shower Caddy in satin nickel provides a damage-free solution for organizing your shower essentials. This caddy adheres firmly to various surfaces like glass, mirror, tile, fiberglass, wood, and painted surfaces, offering a reliable alternative to unsightly suction cups or damaging screws and nails. It is designed for strong hold in wet and humid conditions and removes cleanly without leaving holes or sticky residue.

Setup and Installation

Follow these steps carefully for optimal adhesion and performance of your Command Shower Caddy.

  1. Surface Preparation: Clean the surface thoroughly with the included alcohol wipe. Allow the surface to air dry completely. Do not use household cleaners, as they may leave residues that reduce adhesion.
  2. Apply Strips to Mounting Base: Separate the Command Water-Resistant Strips. Remove the blue liner from one side of a strip and press it firmly onto the clear plastic mounting base of the caddy. Repeat this for all four strips, ensuring they are securely attached to the bases.
  3. Apply Mounting Base to Wall: Remove the black liners from the exposed side of the strips. Position the entire caddy (with strips attached to the base) against the desired clean, dry wall surface. Press firmly for 10 seconds.
  4. Remove Caddy: Gently slide the caddy up and off the clear plastic mounting bases, leaving the bases attached to the wall.
  5. Press Firmly: Press each individual mounting base firmly against the wall for 30 seconds.
  6. Wait: Wait 24 hours before re-attaching the caddy and placing any items in it. This allows the adhesive to reach maximum strength. It is recommended to shower at least once during this 24-hour period to help activate the water-resistant adhesive.
  7. Re-attach Caddy: After the 24-hour waiting period, slide the caddy back onto the mounting bases.

Removal Instructions

To remove the caddy and strips without damage:

  1. Slide Caddy Off: Gently slide the caddy up and off the mounting bases.
  2. Stretch Strip Down: Grab the bottom tab of the adhesive strip and slowly stretch it straight down along the wall, parallel to the surface. Continue stretching until the strip releases from the wall. Do not pull the strip towards you or at an angle, as this may damage the surface.

Operating Instructions

Once installed and cured for 24 hours, the Command Shower Caddy is ready for use. Place your shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and other shower essentials into the caddy. Ensure the total weight of items does not exceed 6.5 lbs (approximately 3 kilograms) to maintain secure adhesion.

Maintenance

To clean the caddy, remove it from the mounting bases. Wash with mild soap and water, then rinse and dry thoroughly. The satin nickel finish is rust-resistant. Ensure the mounting bases and wall surface are dry before re-attaching the caddy.

Troubleshooting

  • Caddy not holding or falling:
    • Ensure the surface was cleaned with the alcohol wipe and allowed to dry completely before application.
    • Ensure strips were pressed firmly for the recommended time (10 seconds for caddy, 30 seconds for bases).
    • Ensure the 24-hour wait time was observed before placing items in the caddy.
    • Verify the total weight of items does not exceed 6.5 lbs (3 kg).
    • Check if the surface is suitable. Command strips are not recommended for wallpaper, fabrics, textured walls, brick, or other rough/non-stick surfaces.
  • Difficulty removing strips:
    • Ensure the strip is stretched straight down along the wall, parallel to the surface, not pulled outwards or at an angle. Slow and steady pressure is key for clean removal.
