Important Safety Instructions
Please read all instructions carefully before using the Tchibo Cafissimo Pure coffee machine. Keep this manual for future reference.
- Ensure the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to your local mains voltage before connecting.
- Do not immerse the appliance, power cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
- Keep the appliance out of reach of children.
- Always unplug the machine from the power outlet before cleaning, maintenance, or if it will not be used for an extended period.
- Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or if the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
- Hot surfaces: The brewing unit and coffee outlet can become very hot during operation. Avoid contact.
- Use only Tchibo Cafissimo capsules with this machine. Using other capsules may damage the machine and void the warranty.
- Never fill the water tank with hot water, milk, or other liquids. Use only fresh, cold tap water.

Setup
1. Unpacking and Initial Cleaning:
- Remove all packaging materials and stickers from the machine.
- Clean the water tank, drip tray, and capsule collector with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
- Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
2. Filling the Water Tank:
- Remove the water tank from the back of the machine.
- Fill the tank with fresh, cold tap water up to the MAX mark (1 liter capacity).
- Place the water tank back onto the machine, ensuring it is securely seated.
3. First Use (Rinsing Cycle):
- Place a large container (at least 200ml) under the coffee spout.
- Plug the machine into a grounded power outlet. The power button will flash.
- Press any coffee button (e.g., the Caffè Crema button). The machine will start heating up (approx. 45 seconds). The buttons will illuminate steadily when ready.
- Press the Caffè Crema button again. The machine will dispense hot water. Repeat this process 2-3 times to thoroughly rinse the internal system.
- Empty the container and the drip tray. The machine is now ready for use.
Operating Instructions
1. Preparing a Beverage:
- Ensure the water tank is filled and the machine is turned on and heated (buttons are steadily lit).
- Lift the lever to open the capsule compartment.
- Insert a Tchibo Cafissimo capsule into the compartment. Close the lever firmly.
- Place a cup under the coffee spout. Adjust the height of the drip tray if necessary.
- Press the desired coffee button:
- Espresso Button: For a small, intense coffee.
- Caffè Crema Button: For a medium-sized coffee with a fine crema.
- Filter Coffee Button: For a larger cup of coffee.
- The machine will start brewing. The button will flash during brewing.
- Once brewing is complete, the machine will stop automatically.
- Lift the lever to eject the used capsule into the integrated collector. Close the lever.
- Enjoy your coffee.

2. Programming Drink Quantity:
You can customize the amount of coffee dispensed for each button.
- Ensure the machine is heated and ready.
- Insert a capsule and place a cup.
- Press and hold the desired coffee button (Espresso, Caffè Crema, or Filter Coffee).
- Release the button when the desired amount of coffee has been dispensed into your cup. The machine will save this setting for future use.
Maintenance
1. Daily Cleaning:
- Empty and Clean Drip Tray and Capsule Collector: After each use or at least daily, empty the drip tray and the integrated capsule collector. Wash them with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- Clean Water Tank: Empty and rinse the water tank daily. Refill with fresh water.
- Wipe Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Clean Coffee Spout: Regularly wipe the coffee spout area to remove any coffee residue.
2. Descaling:
Regular descaling is essential to maintain machine performance and extend its lifespan. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage. A descaling indicator light may illuminate when descaling is required.
- Empty the water tank and fill it with a descaling solution according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions.
- Place a large container (at least 500ml) under the coffee spout.
- Initiate the descaling program (refer to the full manual for specific button combinations, typically involves holding down certain buttons).
- Allow the machine to run through the descaling cycle. This usually involves dispensing the solution in intervals.
- After the descaling solution has been fully dispensed, rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water.
- Run several rinsing cycles with fresh water to remove any descaler residue.
Note: Always use a descaling agent suitable for coffee machines and follow its instructions carefully. Do not use vinegar, as it can damage the machine.
Troubleshooting
