Controls and Display

  • POWER Button: Turns the device on/off.
  • MODE Button: Switches between different display modes (e.g., time display, alarm setting).
  • SET Button: Confirms selections or enters setting modes.
  • ADJ Button: Adjusts values during settings.
  • Upper LCD Display: Shows current time (12/24 hour format).
  • Lower LCD Display: Shows alcohol test results in g/l and % BAC. Features red backlighting for results and optical warnings.
  • Mouthpiece Opening: Located at the top for breath sampling.

Setup

Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Slide or open the cover.
  3. Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: The device requires 2 AAA batteries. Ensure fresh batteries are used for accurate readings.

Initial Time Setting

Upon first use or after battery replacement, you may need to set the time. Refer to the 'Operating Instructions' for time adjustment.

Operating Instructions

Performing an Alcohol Test

  1. Press the POWER button to turn on the device. The device will perform a brief self-check.
  2. Wait for the device to display "WAIT" or a similar indicator, followed by "BLOW" or a countdown.
  3. When prompted, take a deep breath and blow steadily into the mouthpiece opening for approximately 5 seconds. Ensure a continuous breath sample.
  4. The device will process the sample and display the results on the lower LCD screen in g/l and % BAC. The display will be red.
  5. Optical Warning: The device provides an optical warning at 0.2‰ and 0.5‰. If your result is at or above these levels, the display will flash.
  6. The device will automatically shut off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.

Setting Time and Alarm (if applicable)

  1. With the device on, press the MODE button to cycle through display modes until the time setting mode is reached.
  2. Press the SET button to enter the time adjustment. The hour digit will flash.
  3. Use the ADJ button to change the hour.
  4. Press SET again to move to the minute digit and adjust with ADJ.
  5. Continue this process for 12/24 hour format or alarm settings if available.
  6. Press MODE to exit the setting mode.

Maintenance

Cleaning

  • Wipe the device exterior with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Do not immerse the device in water or any other liquid.

Storage

  • Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • If storing for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.

Troubleshooting
