Operating Instructions

First Use

During the first use, a slight odor or smoke may occur as manufacturing residues burn off. This is normal and will dissipate quickly. Ensure the area is well-ventilated.

General Operation

  1. Connect to Power: Plug the power cord into a suitable wall outlet (230V). The indicator light on the thermostat knob will illuminate.
  2. Preheating: Turn the thermostat knob to the desired temperature setting (MIN to MAX). Allow the appliance to preheat for approximately 10-15 minutes. The indicator light may cycle on and off, indicating the heating element is maintaining the set temperature.
  3. Cooking on Grill Plate: For grilling meats, poultry, and vegetables, place food directly onto the preheated grill plate. For best results, lightly brush food with oil or use a non-stick spray.
  4. Cooking on Granite Stone: For raclette, delicate items, or slower cooking, place food onto the preheated granite stone. The stone provides even heat distribution and retains heat well. A small amount of oil can be used, but is often not necessary.
  5. Adjust Temperature: Adjust the thermostat knob as needed during cooking to achieve desired results.
  6. After Cooking: Once cooking is complete, turn the thermostat knob to the "OFF" position and unplug the appliance from the wall outlet. Allow the unit to cool completely before cleaning.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper maintenance and cleaning will extend the life of your H.Koenig RP320 grill.

  1. Cool Down: Always ensure the appliance is unplugged and completely cool before attempting to clean.
  2. Remove Components: Carefully remove the grill plate or granite stone and the drip tray from the main unit.
  3. Clean Grill Plate: The non-stick grill plate can be washed with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge. Avoid abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads that could damage the non-stick coating.
  4. Clean Granite Stone: The granite stone should be cleaned with warm water and a soft cloth. For stubborn food residues, a plastic scraper can be used. Avoid harsh detergents or sudden temperature changes (e.g., pouring cold water on a hot stone) which could cause cracking.
  5. Clean Drip Tray: The drip tray can be washed with warm, soapy water.
  6. Clean Main Unit: Wipe the main heating unit and wooden handles with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  7. Storage: Ensure all parts are thoroughly dry before reassembling or storing the appliance. Store in a dry place.
