5.2 Volume and Menu Controls

Use the VOL+ and VOL- buttons to adjust the alert volume. Press the MENU button to access settings and navigate through options. The MUTE/DIM button can be used to silence alerts or adjust display brightness.

5.3 Sensitivity Modes

The DFR6 offers different sensitivity modes to optimize detection and reduce false alarms:

  • Highway Mode: Provides full sensitivity for maximum detection range on open roads.
  • City Mode: Reduces sensitivity on certain bands (e.g., X-band) to minimize false alerts in urban areas caused by automatic door openers and other non-police radar sources.
  • Advanced Mode: Allows individual control over sensitivity for X, K, and Ka bands, enabling customization to specific driving environments.

5.4 Band Settings

You can enable or disable specific radar bands (X, K, Ka) through the menu to suit local regulations and reduce unwanted alerts. It is generally recommended to keep K and Ka bands enabled for legitimate threat detection.

5.5 Mute Function

Press the MUTE/DIM button to temporarily silence an alert. Double-pressing the MUTE/DIM button can be used to mark stationary false alert locations for future automatic muting (GPS lockouts).
