Introduction

1. Setup

1.1 Unboxing and Package Contents

1.2 Assembling the Stand

1. Place the monitor face down on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches.
2. Attach the stand base to the stand neck. Secure it with the provided screw.
3. Attach the assembled stand to the back of the monitor until it clicks into place.

1.3 Connecting the Monitor

Connect the monitor to your computer and power source using the following steps:

• Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the monitor's power input and then to a wall outlet.
• Video Connection:
  • HDMI: Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the monitor and the other end to the HDMI port on your computer.
  • D-Sub (VGA): Connect one end of the D-Sub cable to the D-Sub port on the monitor and the other end to the D-Sub port on your computer.

Note: For optimal display quality, HDMI connection is recommended.

1.4 Initial Power On

Press the power button located on the bottom center of the monitor. The monitor will power on and automatically detect the input signal. If no signal is detected, ensure all cables are securely connected and your computer is powered on.

2. Operating the Monitor

2.1 On-Screen Control (OSC) Software

The On-Screen Control software provides a user-friendly interface to adjust monitor settings directly from your computer. Install the software from the provided CD or download it from the LG website.

• Installation: Run the installer from the CD or downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
• Usage: Once installed, launch the On-Screen Control application to access various display settings, including brightness, contrast, picture modes, and the Screen Split feature.

2.2 Screen Split 2.0

Screen Split 2.0 allows you to divide your monitor's screen into multiple sections for efficient multitasking. This feature is accessible through the On-Screen Control software.

• Activating Screen Split: Open the On-Screen Control application and navigate to the Screen Split section.
• Layout Selection: Choose from various pre-set screen layouts to arrange your open windows.
• Window Placement: Drag and drop application windows into the desired split sections; they will automatically resize to fit.

2.3 Reader Mode

Reader Mode adjusts the screen's color temperature and luminance to reduce eye strain, making it more comfortable for reading documents or browsing web pages for extended periods. Activate this mode via the On-Screen Control software or the monitor's physical controls.

2.4 Black Stabilizer

The Black Stabilizer feature brightens dark areas of the screen, allowing you to see details in dimly lit scenes. This can be particularly useful in applications where visibility in dark areas is critical. Adjust this setting through the On-Screen Control software.

3.1 Cleaning the Monitor

• Always unplug the monitor before cleaning.
• Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a specialized screen cleaner.
