Setup
1. Charging the Battery
Insert the Battery Pack NB-13L into the Battery Charger CB-2LH. Connect the charger to a power outlet. The charging indicator will show the charging status. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use. Charging time varies depending on remaining battery power.
2. Inserting the Memory Card
Open the battery/card slot cover on the bottom of the camera. Insert a compatible SD card into the memory card slot until it clicks into place. Close the cover securely.
3. Initial Power On
Press the ON/OFF button located on the top of the camera to power it on. Follow the on-screen prompts to set the date, time, and language.
Operating the Camera
1. Basic Photography
To take a photo, select your desired shooting mode using the mode dial (e.g., Auto, Program AE, Shutter-priority AE, Aperture-priority AE, Manual). Frame your shot using the 3.0-inch tilting LCD monitor. Press the shutter button halfway to focus, then press fully to capture the image.
2. Video Recording
The camera supports Full HD video recording. To start recording, press the dedicated movie button. The tilting LCD monitor is ideal for self-portraits and vlogging, allowing you to monitor your framing. The advanced video capabilities ensure high-quality footage.
3. Tilting LCD Monitor
The 3.0-inch LCD monitor can tilt up 180 degrees and down 45 degrees. This feature is highly beneficial for shooting from various angles, including high and low perspectives, and for self-recording.
4. Zoom Function
Utilize the zoom lever around the shutter button to adjust the optical zoom (4.2x) of the f/1.8–2.8 lens. This allows for flexible framing from wide-angle to telephoto shots.
