3. Installing Objectives
- Rotate the revolving quadruple nosepiece until an empty slot is accessible.
- Carefully screw each objective (4X, 10X, 40X, 100X) into the nosepiece in increasing order of magnification.
4. Power Connection
- Connect the AC/DC power adapter to the microscope's power input jack.
- Plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet (100V-240V).
5. Digital Camera Software Installation
- Insert the provided software CD into your computer's CD/DVD drive.

Operating Instructions
This section details how to operate your microscope for optimal viewing and digital capture.
1. Powering On and Illumination
- Flip the power switch located on the microscope base to the "ON" position.
- Adjust the intensity of the LED transmitted illumination using the dimmer knob.
2. Preparing a Specimen
- Place a prepared slide onto the mechanical stage.
- Use the stage X-Y control knobs to position the specimen directly over the light source.
3. Adjusting Magnification
- Start with the lowest magnification objective (4X) by rotating the nosepiece.
- Adjust the interpupillary distance by moving the ocular tubes until a single, clear field of view is observed through both eyepieces.
- Adjust the ocular diopter on both eyetubes for individual eye focus.
- To increase magnification, rotate the nosepiece to the next objective (10X, 40X, 100X).
- For 100X objective, apply a small drop of immersion oil to the slide before rotating the objective into position.
- Total magnification is calculated by multiplying the eyepiece magnification (WF10X or WF25X) by the objective magnification (4X, 10X, 40X, 100X).

4. Focusing
- Use the coaxial coarse focus knob to bring the specimen into approximate focus.
- Use the fine focus knob for precise focusing and to achieve a sharp image.
5. Adjusting the Condenser and Iris Diaphragm
- The NA1.25 Abbe condenser helps to concentrate light onto the specimen.
- Adjust the iris diaphragm to control the amount of light and contrast. A smaller opening increases contrast but reduces brightness.
6. Using the Digital Camera
- Once the specimen is in focus through the eyepieces, switch the light path to the trinocular port (if applicable, some models have a switch).
- Open the digital imaging software on your computer.
- The live view of the specimen should appear on your computer screen.
- Use the software to capture still images, record videos, perform measurements, and utilize advanced features like stitching and Extended Depth of Focus (EDF).
Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your microscope.
- Cleaning Lenses: Use only specialized lens cleaning paper and lens cleaning solution. Gently wipe lenses in a circular motion. Avoid touching optical surfaces with bare hands.
- Cleaning Body: Wipe the microscope body with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: When not in use, cover the microscope with a dust cover to protect it from dust and debris. Store in a cool, dry place.
- Immersion Oil: After using the 100X oil immersion objective, always clean the objective lens and the slide thoroughly with lens cleaning paper and solution to remove all traces of oil.
Troubleshooting
Refer to this section for solutions to common issues.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No illumination | Power cable not connected; Power switch off; LED bulb failure. | Ensure power adapter is securely plugged in and power switch is ON. Check if the power adapter's indicator light is on. If not, contact support. |
| Image is blurry or out of focus | Incorrect focus adjustment; Objective lens dirty; Eyepieces not adjusted correctly. | Use coarse and fine focus knobs. Clean objective and eyepiece lenses. Adjust interpupillary distance and diopter settings. |
| Digital camera not detected or software issues | USB cable loose; Software not installed correctly; Driver issues; Camera not selected in software. | Ensure USB cable is securely connected to both camera and computer. Reinstall software and drivers. Select the correct camera device within the software. Check for software updates from the manufacturer's website. |
| Dark or uneven field of view | Iris diaphragm closed too much; Condenser not centered; Objective not fully clicked into place. | Open the iris diaphragm. Ensure the condenser is properly aligned. Rotate the nosepiece until the objective clicks firmly into position. |
