3. Assembly and Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all parts listed in Section 2 are present.

  6. Purge Air: Before plugging in the unit, squeeze the trigger on the spray gun to allow water to flow through the system and purge any trapped air. Continue until a steady stream of water emerges.
  7. Connect Power: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.

4. Operation

Starting the Pressure Washer

  1. Ensure the water supply is fully open and all connections are secure.

  • To adjust the pressure, simply twist the nozzle of the Vario Power wand while the unit is operating.
  • Twist in one direction for lower pressure (e.g., for vehicles or delicate surfaces).
  • Twist in the opposite direction for higher pressure (e.g., for general cleaning of patios or decks).

Using the Dirtblaster Spray Wand

The Dirtblaster spray wand is designed for removing stubborn dirt and grime from hard, durable surfaces like concrete and brick.

  • Attach the Dirtblaster wand to the spray gun.
  • This wand provides a powerful, rotating jet. Use it with caution, as its high intensity can damage sensitive surfaces.
  • Keep the nozzle moving to avoid concentrating the spray in one spot for too long.

Applying Detergent

The K 2 Compact features an onboard detergent suction hose for easy application of cleaning solutions.

  1. Ensure the detergent suction hose is submerged in a container of pressure washer-safe detergent.
  2. Use the Vario Power spray wand set to the lowest pressure setting (or a dedicated detergent nozzle if available).
  3. Squeeze the trigger to apply detergent to the cleaning surface.
  4. After applying detergent, switch back to a high-pressure setting or the Dirtblaster wand to rinse the surface thoroughly.

Stopping the Pressure Washer

  1. Release the spray gun trigger.
  2. Turn the power switch to the OFF position.
  3. Turn off the water supply.
  4. Squeeze the spray gun trigger to release any remaining pressure in the system.
  5. Disconnect the power cord and water supply hose.

5. Care and Maintenance

Regular care and maintenance will extend the life of your Karcher K 2 Compact pressure washer.

  • Cleaning Nozzles: If the spray pattern becomes irregular or pressure drops, the nozzle may be clogged. Use the included nozzle cleaning tool (if applicable) to clear any debris.
  • Water Inlet Filter: Periodically check and clean the water inlet filter to prevent debris from entering the pump.
  • Hose Storage: Coil the high-pressure hose neatly after each use. The unit features integrated storage for the spray wands and hose.
