Important Safety Information
CHOKING HAZARD - Small Parts! Not for children under 3 years old!
Always read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before operating the pressure washer. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury. Operating Instructions
Once set up, your Kärcher K 2 is ready for operation. Always wear appropriate safety gear, including eye protection, during use.
General Operation
- Turn on the water supply completely.
- Turn on the pressure washer unit. The motor will start.
- Squeeze the trigger on the spray gun to begin spraying. Release the trigger to stop the flow.
Using the Vario Power Spray Wand
The Vario Power spray wand allows you to adjust the pressure directly at the wand. Simply twist the nozzle to cycle between low-pressure (MIX for detergent application) and high-pressure settings. This is ideal for light-duty cleaning jobs and delicate surfaces.

The Dirtblaster wand effectively removes tough grime from concrete surfaces.
Using the Dirtblaster Spray Wand
For stubborn dirt and grime, attach the patented Dirtblaster spray wand. This wand provides a powerful, rotating zero-degree spray that is highly effective on tough-to-clean surfaces like concrete, brick, and heavily soiled outdoor equipment. Use with caution on painted or delicate surfaces.
Detergent Application
The Kärcher K 2 features a detergent suction feature for easy application of cleaning solutions. To use, ensure the Vario Power spray wand is set to the low-pressure (MIX) setting. Insert the detergent suction tube into the Kärcher Vehicle Wash & Wax Detergent bottle. The pressure washer will automatically draw detergent into the water stream. Apply detergent evenly to the surface, allow it to dwell as per detergent instructions, then switch to a high-pressure setting or the Dirtblaster wand for rinsing.

Applying foam to a vehicle using the included foam cannon for thorough cleaning.

Rinsing the vehicle after detergent application to reveal a clean surface.

Utilizing the soft bristle wash brush for gentle yet effective cleaning of vehicle surfaces.
Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Kärcher K 2 pressure washer:
- After Each Use: Flush the system with clean water to remove any detergent residue. Turn off the unit and water supply, then squeeze the trigger to release any remaining pressure.
- Clean Nozzles: Regularly check and clean the nozzles of the spray wands to prevent blockages. A clogged nozzle can cause excessive pressure build-up and damage the pump.
- Water Inlet Filter: Inspect and clean the water inlet filter periodically to ensure a steady flow of clean water to the pump.
- Storage: Store the pressure washer in a dry, frost-free environment. If storing in an unheated area, ensure all water is drained from the pump, hose, and spray gun to prevent freezing and damage.
- Hose and Cord Care: Coil the high-pressure hose and power cord neatly after each use to prevent kinks and damage.
Troubleshooting
Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No water coming out / Low pressure | Water supply off, kinked hose, clogged filter/nozzle, air in pump. | Check water supply, straighten hose, clean filter/nozzle, purge air from system. |
| Motor runs but no pressure | Air in pump, clogged nozzle, insufficient water supply. | Purge air, clean nozzle, ensure adequate water flow. |
| Unit cycles on/off frequently | Air in pump, leak in hose/connections, clogged nozzle. | Purge air, check for leaks, clean nozzle. |
| Detergent not siphoning | Vario Power wand not on MIX setting, detergent tube clogged. | Adjust wand to MIX, clear detergent tube. |
