Operating the Lens

Focus Control

The Xeen 35mm T1.5 lens features a manual focus ring with a long focus throw (200 degrees) for precise adjustments. Rotate the focus ring to achieve sharp focus on your subject. The focus distance markings are clearly visible on the lens barrel in both feet and meters.

Aperture (T-Stop) Control

Adjust the aperture using the T-stop ring. The lens features an 11-bladed diaphragm for smooth, circular bokeh. The T-stop scale is unified across all Xeen lenses, ensuring consistent exposure when switching between different focal lengths in the series.

  • Dust Removal: Use a blower brush to remove dust particles from the lens surface before wiping.
  • Storage: When not in use, always attach both front and rear lens caps. Store the lens in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Avoid Impact: Protect the lens from drops and impacts, as this can damage the optical elements and mechanical components.

  • Lens Not Attaching Securely: Ensure the lens and camera mounts are clean and properly aligned. Do not force the lens.
  • Difficulty Focusing: Verify that the lens is set to manual focus. Practice rotating the focus ring for smooth adjustments.
  • Image Quality Issues: Check for smudges or dust on the lens elements. Ensure the lens is securely mounted and the camera settings are appropriate for the shooting conditions.
