1. Introduction

The NovaStar VX4S is a professional LED display controller designed to provide excellent image quality and flexible image control for various applications, particularly in the broadcast industry. This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your VX4S controller.

2. Setup

2.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully unpack the NovaStar VX4S controller and inspect it for any signs of damage during transit. Ensure all components listed in the packing list are present. If any items are missing or damaged, contact your supplier immediately.

2.2 Connecting the Device

Refer to the diagrams below for proper connection of input sources, output displays, and power.

2.2.1 Power Connection

Connect the provided AC power cable to the power input port on the rear of the VX4S (AC100-240V~50/60Hz). Plug the other end into a suitable power outlet. Ensure the power switch on the front panel is in the OFF position before connecting power.

2.2.2 Video Input Connections

• HDMI: Connect HDMI sources to the HDMI input port.
• DVI: Connect DVI sources to the DVI input port.
• VGA: Connect VGA sources to the VGA1 or VGA2 input ports.
• CVBS: Connect composite video sources to the CVBS1 or CVBS2 input ports.
• DP: Connect DisplayPort sources to the DP input port.
• SDI: Connect SDI sources to the SDI input port.

2.2.3 LED Display Output Connections

Connect your LED display panels to the LED OUT Ethernet ports (1-4) on the rear of the VX4S using standard Ethernet cables. Ensure proper cabling and configuration for your specific LED display setup.

2.2.4 Monitor Output Connections

Connect an external monitor to the DVI OUT 1 or DVI OUT 2 ports under the MONITOR section to preview the output or navigate the menu.

3. Operation

3.1 Powering On/Off

To power on the device, press the power switch on the front panel to the ON position. The LED display will illuminate. To power off, press the switch to the OFF position.

3.2 Basic Navigation

The VX4S features a single knob and button for system configuration. Rotate the knob to navigate through menu options and press the knob to confirm selections. The ESC button can be used to go back to the previous menu or exit a setting.

3.3 Input Source Selection

Press the corresponding input button (e.g., HDMI, DVI, VGA) on the front panel to switch between video input sources. The active input will be indicated on the LED display.

3.4 Picture-in-Picture (PIP) Configuration

Press the PIP button to activate or deactivate the Picture-in-Picture function. Use the control knob and menu to adjust the location and size of the PIP window. Refer to the on-screen menu for detailed PIP settings.

3.5 Scaling and Image Adjustment

Press the SCALE button to access scaling options. The VX4S supports various scaling modes to fit your content to the LED display. Use the control knob to select and adjust scaling parameters.

3.6 Test Patterns

Press the TEST button to display various test patterns on the LED screen. This is useful for checking display integrity and calibration.

3.7 Saving Configurations

After making changes, navigate through the menu to save your configurations. The VX4S allows for saving and recalling user presets.

4.1 Cleaning
