3.2 Motherboard Installation

  1. Remove the side panel by unscrewing the thumbscrews at the rear of the case.
  2. Install the necessary motherboard standoffs into the motherboard tray according to your motherboard's form factor (ATX, microATX, or Mini-ITX).
  3. Carefully place your motherboard onto the standoffs, aligning the screw holes.
  4. Secure the motherboard with the provided screws. Do not overtighten.

3.3 Graphics Card and Expansion Card Installation

  1. Identify the appropriate expansion slots on the rear of the case.
  2. Remove the necessary expansion slot covers. These covers may require careful removal, potentially using a tool like a dremel for a clean break, as noted by some users.
  3. Insert your graphics card or other expansion cards into the PCIe slots on the motherboard.
  4. Secure the cards with screws or the provided retention mechanism.

3.4 Power Supply Unit (PSU) Installation

The TYRFING supports bottom-mounted PSUs up to 300mm in length.

  1. Position the PSU in the dedicated compartment at the bottom rear of the case.
  2. Align the PSU with the screw holes on the rear panel.
  3. Secure the PSU with the provided screws.

3.5 Drive Installation (HDD/SSD)

The case features tool-less 3.5" device installation.

  1. Locate the drive bays. The case includes internal bays for 3.5-inch hard drives.
  2. Slide the hard drive or SSD into the appropriate drive tray/caddy.
  3. Secure the drive within the tray if necessary, then slide the tray back into the bay until it clicks into place.

3.6 Cooling System Installation

The TYRFING comes with two pre-installed 120mm fans. It supports additional cooling options.

  • AIO Liquid Cooler Support: The case supports a 360mm AIO liquid cooler radiator on the top panel and a 120mm radiator in the rear.
  • CPU Cooler Height: The case accommodates CPU coolers up to 160mm in height.
  • Optional Fans: Additional fan mounting points are available for enhanced airflow.

4. Operating Instructions

Once all components are installed and connected, ensure all cables are properly routed and secured to prevent interference with fans or airflow. Close the side panel and connect the necessary peripherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse, power cable). Press the power button on the top I/O panel to start your system.

The case is designed for efficient airflow to maintain optimal component temperatures. The two pre-installed 120mm fans contribute to this airflow. Consider installing additional fans or a liquid cooling system if your components generate significant heat.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps prolong the life of your PC components and ensures optimal performance.

  • Dust Filter Cleaning: The TYRFING case includes a dust filter located at the bottom, beneath the PSU. Periodically remove and clean this filter to prevent dust buildup inside the case, which can impede airflow and cause components to overheat.
  • Internal Cleaning: Use compressed air to gently remove dust from internal components such as fans, heatsinks, and graphics cards. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
  • Cable Management: Periodically check cable routing to ensure no cables are obstructing airflow or fan operation.

6. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues encountered during PC assembly or operation with the TYRFING case.

  • Difficulty Removing Expansion Slot Covers: Some users report that the rear panel PCIe cutouts can be difficult to remove. If standard methods are insufficient, a rotary cutting tool may be used, but exercise extreme caution and ensure no metal fragments remain in the case before installing components.
  • Front Audio Cable Length: The front panel audio cable may be minimally long for some motherboard layouts. Ensure it is routed carefully to avoid tension or obstruction.
  • No Reset Button/HDD Light: The TYRFING case does not include a dedicated reset button or HDD activity light. This is by design and does not indicate a malfunction.
  • Loose Screws/Thin Metal: When installing components, avoid overtightening screws, especially into plastic parts, as the metal may be thin. Ensure proper alignment to prevent cross-threading.

For issues not covered here, consult the documentation for your individual PC components or contact Rosewill customer support.
