Safety Information
Operating a chainsaw can be dangerous if proper safety precautions are not followed. Always prioritize your safety and the safety of others.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Head Protection: Wear a safety helmet to protect against falling branches.
- Eye Protection: Use safety glasses or a face shield to protect against flying debris.
- Hearing Protection: Wear ear defenders or earplugs to prevent hearing damage from engine noise.
- Hand Protection: Use heavy-duty work gloves for grip and protection.
- Leg Protection: Wear chainsaw protective trousers or chaps.
- Foot Protection: Wear steel-toed safety boots with good grip.
General Safety Guidelines
- Never operate the chainsaw when fatigued, ill, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Keep children, bystanders, and animals at a safe distance (at least 10 meters) from the work area.
- Inspect the chainsaw before each use for loose parts, damage, or fuel leaks.
- Ensure the chain brake is functional and engaged when starting or moving the chainsaw.
- Always hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands.
- Be aware of kickback and how to avoid it. The TRU-SHARP chain is designed to minimize kickback, but it can still occur.
- Fuel the chainsaw in a well-ventilated area, away from ignition sources.
- Do not smoke while fueling or operating the chainsaw.
- Turn off the engine before making any adjustments or performing maintenance.

Setup and Assembly
Before first use, the chainsaw requires assembly and preparation.
1. Guide Bar and Chain Installation
- Ensure the chain brake is disengaged.
- Remove the side cover by loosening the two nuts.
- Carefully place the chain around the clutch drum and guide bar, ensuring the cutting edges face the correct direction.
- Align the guide bar with the mounting studs and slide it back until the chain is taut.
- Replace the side cover and hand-tighten the nuts.
2. Chain Tensioning
- With the side cover nuts slightly loose, use the chain tensioning screw (typically located on the side) to adjust the chain tension.
- The chain should be snug against the guide bar but still able to be pulled freely by hand. There should be no sag on the underside of the bar.
- Once tensioned correctly, fully tighten the side cover nuts.

Figure 5: The side chain tensioner allows for easy and quick adjustment of the chain tension.
3. Fuel and Oil Filling
The GREENCUT GS750X uses a 2-stroke engine, requiring a specific mixture of gasoline and 2-stroke engine oil.
- Fuel Mixture: Consult the engine specifications for the exact mixing ratio (e.g., 25:1 or 50:1 gasoline to 2-stroke oil). Use high-quality unleaded gasoline and a reputable 2-stroke engine oil. Mix in a separate, approved fuel container.
- Chain Oil: Fill the separate oil tank with high-quality bar and chain oil. This oil automatically lubricates the chain and guide bar during operation.
Warning: Never use pure gasoline in a 2-stroke engine. Incorrect fuel mixture will cause severe engine damage.
Operating Instructions
Starting the Engine (Easy-Start System)
- Place the chainsaw on a firm, flat surface.
- Engage the chain brake by pushing the front hand guard forward.
- Set the choke lever to the "Full Choke" position (cold start).
- Press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible.
- Pull the starter cord firmly and smoothly until the engine fires (usually a few pulls with the Easy-Start system).
- Once the engine fires, immediately push the choke lever to the "Half Choke" or "Run" position.
- Pull the starter cord again until the engine starts and runs smoothly.
- Disengage the chain brake before beginning cutting operations.
Cutting Techniques
- Always maintain a firm grip with both hands.
- Stand in a balanced position, keeping your feet apart.
- Avoid cutting with the tip of the guide bar to prevent kickback.
- Let the chainsaw do the work; do not force it through the wood.
- Be aware of the wood's tension and compression to avoid pinching the bar.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of your chainsaw.
Daily Maintenance
- Clean the Air Filter: Remove the air filter cover and clean the filter element. A dirty air filter can reduce engine performance.
- Check Spark Plug: Inspect the spark plug for wear or fouling. Clean or replace as necessary.
- Inspect Chain and Guide Bar: Check for dullness, damage, or excessive wear. Ensure the chain is properly tensioned.
- Check Chain Oil Level: Ensure the chain oil tank is adequately filled. The automatic lubrication system requires a constant supply.
- Clean Chainsaw Body: Remove sawdust, debris, and oil residue from the engine housing and cooling fins.

Figure 8: Convenient maintenance is facilitated by easy access to the air filter, spark plug, and carburetor.
Periodic Maintenance
- Sharpen Chain: Even with TRU-SHARP technology, the chain will eventually dull. Sharpen it regularly or replace it when necessary.
- Clean Carburetor: If performance issues arise, the carburetor may need cleaning or adjustment. This is typically a task for experienced users or a service technician.
- Inspect Fuel Filter: Check and replace the fuel filter if it appears clogged.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Engine does not start | No fuel, incorrect choke setting, fouled spark plug, clogged fuel filter. | Check fuel level and mixture, adjust choke, clean/replace spark plug, check fuel filter. |
| Engine runs poorly/lacks power | Dirty air filter, incorrect fuel mixture, dull chain, carburetor issues. | Clean air filter, verify fuel mixture, sharpen/replace chain, clean/adjust carburetor. |
| Chain not cutting efficiently | Dull chain, incorrect chain tension, worn guide bar. | Sharpen or replace chain, adjust chain tension, inspect and replace guide bar if worn. |
| No chain oil flow | Empty oil tank, clogged oil port, damaged oil pump. | Refill oil tank, clean oil port, consult service for oil pump issues. |
