2. Safety Information

Always handle the syringe and its contents with care. Ensure the animal is properly restrained to prevent injury to both the animal and the user. Consult a veterinarian for appropriate dosages and administration techniques for specific medications or supplements.

  • Do not use the syringe if any parts are damaged or broken.
  • Keep out of reach of children and animals when not in use.
  • Dispose of any medical waste according to local regulations.

3. Product Components

The ARDES 20 ml Veterinary Syringe consists of several key parts:

  • Syringe Barrel: Transparent body with volume markings (in milliliters).
  • Plunger: Internal component that moves within the barrel to draw in and expel liquid.
  • Handle/Finger Grips: Ergonomically designed for comfortable operation.
  • Dose Nut: Adjustable mechanism to set the desired volume for repeated dosing.
  • Drench Cannula: Curved metal tip for oral administration.

4. Setup and Preparation

  1. Disassembly for Cleaning: Before first use and after each use, disassemble the syringe for thorough cleaning. The syringe barrel, plunger, and drench cannula can be separated.
  2. Cleaning and Disinfection: Refer to the Maintenance section for detailed cleaning and disinfection procedures. Ensure all parts are clean and dry before reassembly.
  3. Reassembly: Carefully reassemble the syringe, ensuring all components fit securely.
  4. Dose Adjustment: To set a specific dose, adjust the dose nut on the plunger rod. This limits the backward travel of the plunger, ensuring consistent delivery of the desired volume.

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Fill Syringe: Immerse the drench cannula into the liquid to be administered. Pull the plunger back slowly to draw the liquid into the syringe barrel until the desired volume is reached, as indicated by the markings.
  2. Check for Air Bubbles: Hold the syringe with the cannula pointing upwards and gently tap the barrel to allow any air bubbles to rise. Slowly push the plunger until the air is expelled and a small amount of liquid appears at the tip.
  3. Administer to Animal: Carefully insert the drench cannula into the animal's mouth, directing it towards the back of the tongue or cheek pouch, depending on the animal and substance. Ensure the animal is calm and properly restrained.
  4. Dispense Liquid: Slowly and steadily push the plunger to dispense the liquid. Allow the animal to swallow naturally. Do not administer too quickly, as this can cause choking.
  5. Repeat Dosing: If multiple doses are required, the dose nut will ensure consistent volume delivery for each subsequent administration after refilling.

6. Maintenance and Care

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and hygienic operation of your ARDES syringe.

6.1. Cleaning and Disinfection

  1. Disassemble: Separate all components of the syringe (barrel, plunger, drench cannula).
  2. Wash: Wash all parts thoroughly with warm water and a suitable quaternary ammonium disinfectant. Ensure all residues are removed.
  3. Rinse: Rinse all parts thoroughly with clean water to remove any disinfectant residue.
  4. Dry: Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembly or storage.

6.2. Lubrication

Regular lubrication of the plunger mechanism is strongly advised to maintain smooth operation and prevent sticking.

  1. Apply a small amount of silicone oil to the plunger's rubber seal.
  2. Work the plunger back and forth a few times to distribute the lubricant evenly.
