4. Installation

  2. Mounting: Install the single DIN chassis into the vehicle's dashboard opening. Secure it using the provided mounting hardware.

5. Basic Operation

The VR-75B features a 7-inch foldout touchscreen and physical buttons for control. The main menu provides access to various functions.

5.1 Power On/Off and Volume

  • Power Button: Press the MENU button (often integrated with the volume knob) to turn the unit on or off.
  • Volume Control: Rotate the central knob to adjust the volume level.

5.2 Touchscreen Navigation

  • From the HOME screen, tap the desired icon (Radio, Disc, BT, USB, Setup, AV in) to access that function.
  • Use the HOME icon (top left) to return to the main menu.

5.3 Radio Operation

  • Tap the Radio icon on the home screen.
  • Band Selection: Press the BAND button to switch between FM1, FM2, FM3, AM1, and AM2 bands.
  • Tuning: Use the Seek Up/Down buttons (physical or touchscreen) to automatically search for stations. Manual tuning may be available via touchscreen controls.
  • Preset Stations: Touch and hold a preset number on the screen to save the current station. Tap to recall.

5.4 Disc Playback (DVD/CD)

  • Insert a DVD or CD into the disc slot. The unit should automatically switch to Disc mode.
  • If not, tap the Disc icon on the home screen.
  • Use the touchscreen controls for Play, Pause, Skip Track, Fast Forward, and Rewind.

5.5 Bluetooth (BT) Operation

  • Tap the BT icon on the home screen to enter Bluetooth mode.
  • Pairing:
    1. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device.
    2. Search for available devices. The unit's name will typically be "Soundstream" or "VR-75B".
    3. Select the unit and enter the PIN (usually "0000" or "1234") if prompted.
    4. Once paired, the Bluetooth icon on the unit will indicate a successful connection.
  • Hands-Free Calling: Use the touchscreen to dial numbers, answer, or end calls. Your phonebook may sync automatically.
  • Audio Streaming (A2DP): Play audio from your paired device. Use the unit's controls to play, pause, or skip tracks.

5.6 USB Operation

  • Insert a USB storage device into the USB port.
  • Tap the USB icon on the home screen.
  • The unit will display files and folders. Navigate and select media files (MP3, WMA, etc.) for playback.
  • Use the touchscreen controls for playback.

5.7 Setup Menu

  • Tap the Setup icon on the home screen to access system settings.
  • Settings may include:
    • Audio settings (Equalizer, Balance, Fader)
    • Display settings (Brightness, Wallpaper)
    • System settings (Language, Time, Beep sound)
    • Bluetooth settings (Device list, Auto connect)

5.8 AV In

  • Connect an external audio/video source to the AV input jacks (if available).
  • Tap the AV in icon on the home screen to select this source.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Screen: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the touchscreen. For stubborn smudges, use a screen cleaner specifically designed for electronic displays. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Cleaning the Unit: Wipe the main unit with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents.
  • Disc Slot: Keep the disc slot free of dust and debris. Do not insert foreign objects.
  • Detachable Face Plate: If your unit has a detachable face plate, handle it carefully and store it in the provided case when removed.
