4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove the jigsaw and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect the tool for any signs of damage. If any parts are damaged or missing, contact your supplier immediately. Included components are the jigsaw machine, user manual, warranty information, safety standard documentation, 2 saw blades, side guide, dust extraction port, bevel adjustment key, and 2 batteries for the laser guide.

4.2 Blade Installation (Quick Change System)

  1. Ensure the jigsaw is disconnected from the power supply.
  2. Locate the quick blade change mechanism (refer to Figure 3).
  3. Push or pull the lever/button to open the blade clamp.
  4. Insert the T-shank of the saw blade fully into the blade holder until it clicks into place.
  5. Release the lever/button to secure the blade. Gently pull on the blade to ensure it is firmly seated.

4.3 Adjusting the Base Plate for Bevel Cuts

  1. Disconnect the jigsaw from the power supply.
  2. Loosen the screw(s) or lever that secures the base plate (refer to Figure 3 for the bevel adjustment key).
  3. Tilt the base plate to the desired angle (0°, 15°, 30°, or 45°). The base plate can tilt to both sides.
  4. Tighten the screw(s) or lever firmly to secure the base plate in position.

4.4 Attaching the Side Guide

The side guide can be attached for making straight and precise cuts. Slide the side guide into the designated slots on the base plate and secure it at the desired distance using its locking mechanism. The guide is adjustable up to 15mm.

4.5 Connecting Dust Extraction

For a cleaner work environment, connect an external vacuum cleaner to the dust extraction port located at the rear of the tool (refer to Figure 3).

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off and Continuous Operation

  • To turn on the jigsaw, press the trigger switch.
  • For continuous operation, press the trigger switch and then engage the safety lock button (located on both sides of the handle).
  • To turn off, release the trigger switch. If in continuous operation, press the trigger switch again to disengage the lock.
  • A rear LED indicator will illuminate when the machine is connected to power.

5.2 Adjusting Speed

The jigsaw features a 6-speed regulator to match the cutting speed to the material and blade type. Rotate the speed control dial (refer to Figure 4) to select the desired speed. Lower speeds are suitable for harder materials like metal, while higher speeds are for softer materials like wood.

Speed Control Dial on Jigsaw

Figure 4: Speed Control Dial

This image shows a close-up of the speed control dial on the jigsaw, labeled "Control de velocidad" (Speed control). The dial allows users to select from 6 different speed settings.

5.3 Setting Pendulum Action

The pendulum action lever (refer to Figure 3) allows you to adjust the blade's orbital movement. There are 4 settings (0-3):

  • Setting 0: No pendulum action, for fine, precise cuts in delicate materials or when cutting metal.
  • Settings 1-3: Increasing pendulum action for faster, more aggressive cuts in wood and other soft materials. Higher settings are for faster cuts, lower settings for more control.

5.4 Using the Laser Guide and LED Light

Activate the laser guide and LED light to project a cutting line onto your workpiece and illuminate the work area. This feature aids in maintaining a straight and accurate cut. Ensure the laser guide batteries are installed (2 included).

5.5 Cutting Techniques

  • Straight Cuts: Use the side guide for long, straight cuts.
  • Curved Cuts: Use a narrow blade and a lower pendulum setting. Guide the saw slowly along the desired curve.
  • Plunge Cuts: For internal cuts without a pilot hole, tilt the saw forward so the front of the base plate rests on the workpiece. Start the saw, then slowly lower the blade into the material. Exercise extreme caution.
  • Bevel Cuts: Adjust the base plate to the desired angle (0-45°) as described in Section 4.3.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your jigsaw. Always disconnect the tool from the power supply before performing any maintenance.

  • Cleaning: Keep the ventilation openings clear and clean. Regularly clean the tool housing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use solvents. Remove sawdust and debris from the blade area and base plate.
  • Blade Replacement: Replace dull or damaged blades promptly to ensure efficient and safe cutting. Refer to Section 4.2 for blade installation.
  • Carbon Brushes: Periodically check the carbon brushes. If they are worn, have them replaced by a qualified service technician.
  • Cord Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord for damage. If damaged, have it repaired by a qualified professional.
  • Storage: Store the jigsaw in a dry, secure place out of reach of children.
