3. Operation
Powering On/Off and Adjusting Brightness
The HL8R headlamp is equipped with a light control dial for easy operation.
- To turn the headlamp on or off, rotate the light control dial located on the side of the front light unit.
- Continue rotating the dial to cycle through different brightness levels: high output, medium output, and low output. This allows you to adapt the light to your specific needs and conserve battery life.

Focusing the Beam (PURE BEAM® & TWIST FOCUS™)
The PURE BEAM® focusing system with TWIST FOCUS™ technology allows you to quickly switch between a broad flood beam and a concentrated spot beam.
- To adjust the beam, simply twist the head of the light unit.
- Twist in one direction for an ultra-wide flood beam, ideal for illuminating a large area.
- Twist in the opposite direction for a long-reaching spot beam, perfect for focusing on distant objects. The system maintains a transition halo for full viewing even in spot mode.

4. Maintenance
Cleaning and Care
- Wipe the headlamp body with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt and debris.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish and internal components.
- Ensure the lens is clean for optimal light output.
Battery Care
- For the rechargeable battery pack, use the provided Micro USB cable for charging. The pack can be charged on or off the headlamp.
- If using alkaline batteries, replace all four batteries simultaneously when they are depleted. Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types.
- Remove batteries if the headlamp will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
Water Resistance
The HL8R headlamp is designed to be water resistant. While it can withstand splashes and light rain, it is not intended for submersion in water.

5. Troubleshooting
- Light Not Turning On: Check if the battery pack is properly installed and charged. Ensure the light control dial is rotated to an 'on' position.
- Dim Light Output: This typically indicates low battery power. Recharge the Lithium-Ion battery pack or replace the alkaline batteries.
- Beam Not Focusing Properly: Ensure the twist focus mechanism is clean and free of debris. Twist the head of the light fully in both directions to check for smooth operation.
- Intermittent Operation: Check all connections, especially the coiled cord connecting the light unit to the battery pack, to ensure they are secure.
