4. Setup
The DV14DBL2(NN) is sold as a bare tool (NN specification), meaning the battery, charger, and case are sold separately. Ensure you have compatible HiKOKI 14.4V Lithium-ion batteries and a charger before proceeding.
4.1 Battery Installation
- Ensure the tool is switched off and the forward/reverse switch is in the neutral (locked) position.
- Align the battery pack with the battery port on the tool handle.
- Slide the battery pack firmly into place until it clicks, indicating it is securely locked.
4.2 Attaching the Side Handle
The long side handle provides additional stability and control, especially for high-torque applications or when drilling larger holes.
- Loosen the clamp on the side handle by rotating it counter-clockwise.
- Slide the handle onto the front part of the drill body, behind the chuck.
