Setup
1. Unpacking and Placement
Carefully remove the receiver from its packaging. Place the unit on a stable, flat surface with adequate ventilation. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct sunlight. Ensure there is enough space around the unit for proper airflow.
2. Connecting Speakers
Connect your speakers to the corresponding speaker terminals on the rear panel of the receiver. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -) for all speakers. The SA-GX303 supports 8-ohm minimum impedance speakers.
3. Connecting Audio/Video Components
Use the provided AV cables to connect your audio and video sources (e.g., CD player, VCR, TV, game console) to the appropriate input jacks on the rear panel. For optimal sound, connect your turntable to the PHONO input.

4. Connecting Antennas
Connect the included FM and AM antennas to their respective terminals for radio reception. Extend the FM wire antenna fully for better reception.
5. Power Connection
Once all connections are made, plug the receiver's power cord into a suitable AC outlet. The unit is designed for AC 120V, 60Hz power.
Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off
Press the POWER button on the front panel or the remote control to turn the unit on or off. The display will illuminate when the unit is powered on.
2. Input Selection
Use the input selector buttons (e.g., VCR1, VCR2, CD, TUNER, PHONO) on the front panel or remote to select your desired audio/video source.
3. Volume Control
Adjust the master volume using the large VOLUME knob on the right side of the front panel or the volume buttons on the remote control.
4. Tuning the Radio
Select the TUNER input. Use the TUNING knob or the FM MODE / MEMORY SCAN buttons to find radio stations. You can store your favorite stations as presets.
5. Surround Sound Operation
The SA-GX303 features DOLBY SURROUND. Press the SURROUND button to activate or deactivate the surround sound mode. Adjust the REAR LEVEL knob to balance the rear speaker output.
6. Tone and EQ Controls
Use the LEVEL/TREBLE and CENTER FRED/BASS knobs to adjust the bass and treble levels. The receiver also features a graphic equalizer function with preset EQ modes (EQ-1, EQ-2, EQ-3, EQ-4) and a manual adjustment option.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Unit
To clean the exterior of the receiver, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water and then wipe dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.
Ventilation
Regularly check that the ventilation openings on the top and sides of the unit are not blocked. Proper ventilation is crucial to prevent overheating and ensure long-term performance.
Troubleshooting
No Power
- Check if the power cord is securely plugged into the wall outlet and the receiver.
- Ensure the power outlet is functional.
No Sound
- Verify that the correct input source is selected.
- Check speaker connections for proper polarity and secure attachment.
- Ensure the volume is turned up and not muted.
- Confirm that the speakers are connected to the correct speaker terminals (A or B, if applicable).
Poor Radio Reception
- Adjust the position of the FM wire antenna or AM loop antenna.
- Consider connecting an external antenna for improved reception.
- Check for local interference from other electronic devices.
Remote Control Not Working
- Check and replace the batteries in the remote control.
- Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the receiver's remote sensor.
