Components Overview
Familiarize yourself with the main components of your turntable.

Setup
1. Platter and Drive Belt Installation
- Carefully place the platter onto the center spindle.
- Locate the drive belt, which is pre-installed on the underside of the platter.
- Using the red ribbon attached to the drive belt, gently pull the belt over the motor pulley. Ensure the belt is not twisted.
- Remove the red ribbon.
- Place the felt slip mat on top of the platter.
2. Tone Arm Assembly and Balancing
- Install Counterweight: Slide the counterweight onto the rear of the tone arm with the numbers facing forward.
- Attach Head Shell: Carefully attach the head shell (with the Audio-Technica cartridge) to the end of the tone arm. Turn the locking nut until it is firmly in place.
- Remove Stylus Protector: Gently remove the clear plastic stylus protector from the cartridge.
- Unlock Tone Arm: Release the tone arm from its rest using the tone arm lock.
- Balance Tone Arm: Adjust the counterweight by rotating it until the tone arm floats parallel to the platter without touching it. The tone arm should be level.
- Set Tracking Force: Once balanced, hold the counterweight steady and rotate only the numbered ring to '0' on the center line. Then, rotate the entire counterweight counter-clockwise until the number '2' aligns with the center line. This sets the tracking force to 2 grams, which is optimal for the included cartridge.
- Set Anti-Skate: Locate the anti-skating dial near the tone arm base. Set this dial to '2' to match the tracking force.
- Lock Tone Arm: Return the tone arm to its rest and secure it with the tone arm lock.

3. Connecting to Audio System
- Connect the RCA output cables from the turntable to your amplifier or powered speakers.
- Use the PHONO/LINE switch on the rear of the turntable to select the appropriate output:
- PHONO: Use if your amplifier has a dedicated phono input.
- LINE: Use if your amplifier has a standard auxiliary input or if connecting to powered speakers. The turntable's built-in pre-amplifier will be active.
- Connect the power adapter to the turntable and then to a wall outlet.
Operating Instructions
1. Playing a Record
- Place a record on the platter. If playing a 45 RPM single, use the included 45 RPM adapter.
- Select the correct speed (33 1/3 or 45 RPM) using the speed selector switch.
- Unlock the tone arm from its rest.
- Lift the cueing lever to raise the tone arm.
- Manually position the tone arm over the desired starting groove of the record.
- Gently lower the cueing lever to allow the stylus to descend onto the record.
- To stop playback, lift the cueing lever, return the tone arm to its rest, and lock it.
2. Bluetooth Connectivity (Built-In Receiver)
The Crosley C200 features a built-in Bluetooth receiver, allowing you to stream audio from a Bluetooth-enabled device to the turntable's output. This means you can use the turntable as a Bluetooth speaker for your phone or tablet.
- Ensure the turntable is powered on.
- Activate Bluetooth pairing mode on your external device (e.g., smartphone, tablet).
- Search for "Crosley C200" in your device's Bluetooth settings and select it to pair.
- Once paired, audio from your device will play through the turntable's connected speakers/amplifier.
Note: The Bluetooth feature is for receiving audio to the turntable, not for transmitting audio from the turntable to Bluetooth speakers.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Stylus
- Use a soft brush designed for stylus cleaning.
- Brush gently from back to front (in the direction of the stylus's movement across the record).
- Do not brush from side to side, as this can damage the stylus.
2. Cleaning the Turntable
- Wipe the dust cover and turntable cabinet with a soft, dry cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
3. Replacing the Stylus
The stylus should be replaced after approximately 300-500 hours of playback. Refer to the Audio-Technica cartridge manual for specific replacement instructions or consult a qualified technician.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power | Power adapter not connected or outlet not active. | Ensure power adapter is securely connected and the outlet is functional. |
| No sound or low volume | Incorrect PHONO/LINE switch setting; RCA cables not connected; amplifier/speakers off or volume low. | Check PHONO/LINE switch. Ensure RCA cables are connected correctly. Turn on amplifier/speakers and adjust volume. |
| Skipping or distorted sound | Dirty record/stylus; incorrect tone arm balance/tracking force; turntable not level. | Clean record and stylus. Re-balance tone arm and adjust tracking force/anti-skate. Place turntable on a stable, level surface. |
| Record speed incorrect | Incorrect speed selected; drive belt issue. | Select correct speed (33 1/3 or 45 RPM). Check if the drive belt is properly seated on the motor pulley and platter. |
| Bluetooth pairing issues | Device too far; interference; device not in pairing mode. | Ensure device is within range. Turn off other Bluetooth devices. Put device in pairing mode and try again. |
