Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
- Insert two fresh AAA alkaline batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
2. Programming Your Remote Control
Your RCA universal remote can be programmed using either Direct Code Entry or Code Search methods. It is recommended to try Direct Code Entry first as it is generally faster.
Direct Code Entry

- Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button until the indicator light turns on.

- Point the remote at the component and press the ON-OFF button. If the component turns off, the code is correct. If not, repeat the process with the next code listed for your brand.
Code Search
- Turn on the component you wish to control.
- Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button until the indicator light turns on.
- Press and release the desired component button (e.g., TV, VCR-DVD, SAT-CBL-DTC). The indicator light will blink once and then remain on.
- Point the remote at the component and repeatedly press the ON-OFF button until the component turns off. Pause briefly after each press to allow the component to respond.
- Once the component turns off, press the ENTER button to save the code. The indicator light will turn off.
- Test other functions (e.g., volume, channel) to ensure the remote controls the component correctly. If not, repeat the Code Search process.

1. Device Selection
