Operating Instructions

Your LEONLITE security light offers three operational modes and adjustable sensor settings.

Mode Selection

Use the mode switch on the motion sensor to select one of the following modes:

  • On-Time Mode: The light stays on continuously until manually turned off. Sensor settings are disabled in this mode.
  • Auto Mode: The light activates with motion detection only at night (after dusk) and turns off after a set duration if no further motion is detected.
  • Dusk-to-Dawn Mode (D2D): The light automatically turns on at sunset and off at sunrise, providing continuous illumination throughout the night. Motion sensor functionality is bypassed.

Sensor Adjustments (for Auto Mode)

The motion sensor features three adjustable knobs:

  • Lux Knob: Adjusts the ambient light threshold for activation. Turn towards 'Darker' for the light to activate in lower light conditions, or towards 'Brighter' for it to activate in brighter conditions.
  • Time Knob: Sets how long the light remains on after motion is detected and no further motion is sensed. Adjustable from approximately 5 seconds to 5 minutes.
  • Range Knob: Controls the motion detection distance. Turn towards 'Closer' to reduce the detection range or 'Farther' to extend it up to 59 feet. The sensor has a 180° sensing angle.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your security light.

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the light fixture and motion sensor lens with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, or debris. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Annually inspect the wiring and mounting for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections. Ensure the light heads and sensor are securely positioned.
  • Bulb Replacement: This fixture uses integrated LED technology and does not require bulb replacement.

Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your security light, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Light does not turn on.No power, incorrect wiring, Lux setting too high (in Auto mode).Check circuit breaker. Verify wiring connections. Adjust Lux knob towards 'Darker'.
Light stays on continuously.Mode switch set to On-Time or D2D, continuous motion detected, faulty sensor.Switch to Auto mode. Ensure no objects are causing constant motion detection. If problem persists, contact support.
Light flickers or cycles on/off rapidly.Interference, unstable power, sensor malfunction.Check for nearby heat sources or reflective surfaces. Ensure stable power supply. If flickering continues, contact support.
Motion sensor not detecting movement.Incorrect Range setting, obstructed sensor, extreme temperatures.Adjust Range knob towards 'Farther'. Clear any obstructions from the sensor's view. Sensor performance may vary in extreme weather.
