Package Contents

  • 1 x Hozelock Flowmax 3-Way Tap Connector
  • 1 x Tap Adaptor 1/2" to 3/4" (21mm to 26.5mm BSP)
  • 1 x Tap Adaptor 3/4" to 1" (26.5mm to 33.3mm BSP)
  • 2 x 3/4 inch Tap Connectors (for hose attachment)

Setup and Installation

  1. Select the Correct Tap Adaptor: Identify the thread size of your outdoor tap. The connector includes adaptors for 21mm (1/2” BSP), 26.5mm (¾” BSP), and 33.3mm (1” BSP) taps. Choose the adaptor that fits your tap securely.
  2. Attach to Tap: Screw the selected tap adaptor onto your outdoor tap. Ensure it is hand-tightened to prevent leaks.
  3. Connect the 3-Way Connector: Screw the Hozelock Flowmax 3-Way Tap Connector onto the attached tap adaptor. Tighten firmly by hand.
  4. Attach Hoses/Devices:
    • For the two main outlets, connect your watering devices or hose pipes using the provided 3/4 inch tap connectors. These outlets are controlled by the red quarter-turn valves.
    • The third outlet, a yellow rotating spout, is permanently accessible and designed for filling buckets or watering cans.

Operating Instructions

  • Controlling Flow to Hoses: The two main outlets are controlled by ergonomic quarter-turn red valves. Turn the valve handle to open or close the water flow to the connected hose or device. This allows for independent control of each connected line.
  • Using the Rotating Outlet: The yellow rotating spout provides a continuous flow of water when the main tap is open. Rotate the spout to direct water into a bucket, watering can, or other container. This outlet does not have an independent shut-off valve on the connector itself.
  • Automatic Watering Systems: If using an automatic watering system, a controller can be screwed directly underneath one of the main outlets, leaving the other for a garden hose. The ergonomic valves allow for precise flow adjustment, which can be beneficial for such systems.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the connector with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
  • Leak Prevention: Ensure all connections (tap adaptor to tap, connector to adaptor, hoses to connector) are securely tightened. If leaks occur, check the rubber washers inside the connectors and replace if damaged. PTFE tape can be used on tap threads to improve the seal if necessary.
  • Winter Storage: Before the first frost, disconnect the 3-Way Tap Connector from the outdoor tap and drain any remaining water. Store the connector in a dry, frost-free location to prevent damage from freezing water.

Troubleshooting

Issue: Water leaking from connections.
Solution:
  • Ensure all connections are tightened securely by hand.
  • Check the rubber washers inside the tap adaptors and hose connectors. Replace if they appear worn or damaged.
  • For persistent leaks at the tap connection, apply PTFE (Teflon) tape clockwise around the tap threads before attaching the adaptor.
Issue: Low water flow from an outlet.
Solution:
  • Ensure the corresponding red quarter-turn valve is fully open.
  • Check the main outdoor tap for full water pressure.
  • Inspect the hose and connected device for kinks or blockages.
