Operating Instructions

  • Using the 3-Way Fluid Pan Head: The fluid pan head allows for smooth tilt and swivel motions. Use the handle to control the movement. Loosen the appropriate locks for panning (horizontal) or tilting (vertical) movements, then tighten to secure the position.
  • Interchangeable Handle: The handle on the fluid pan head can be interchanged for both right-handed and left-handed users. Adjust according to your preference for comfortable operation.
  • Monopod with Supporting Legs: Utilize the supporting base legs for added stability, allowing the monopod to stand independently for hands-free operation or time-delayed shots.
  • Close-up Shooting: For low-angle or close-up photography, the pan head can be installed directly onto the supporting base legs, bypassing the main monopod shaft.
  • Dolly Compatibility: The monopod base is compatible with external dollies (not included) for smooth moving shots. Ensure the dolly is securely attached to the 3/8 inch screw thread at the bottom of the unipod holder.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the monopod with a soft, dry cloth after each use to remove dust and dirt. For stubborn grime, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Lubrication: The fluid pan head is designed for smooth operation. Do not attempt to lubricate internal components unless specifically instructed by the manufacturer.
  • Storage: Store the monopod in its carrying bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure all locks are disengaged before storing to prevent stress on the mechanisms.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all screws, bolts, and lever locks for tightness. Tighten any loose components to maintain stability and safety.

Troubleshooting

  • Monopod feels unstable:
    • Ensure all leg section lever locks are fully engaged.
    • Verify the fluid pan head and unipod holder are securely screwed onto the monopod shaft.
    • Adjust the base rigidity thumbnut at the bottom of the unipod holder by tightening it.
  • Fluid pan head movement is not smooth:
    • Check that the pan and tilt lock knobs are sufficiently loosened for movement.
    • Ensure no debris is obstructing the movement of the head. Clean if necessary.
  • Camera not securely attached:
    • Ensure the quick-release plate is properly seated and locked into the fluid pan head.
    • Verify the camera is tightly screwed onto the quick-release plate.
