Fan Speed Control
- To turn the fan ON, slide the left control lever upwards from the 'OFF' position.
- Slide the lever further upwards to increase fan speed.
- Slide the lever downwards to decrease fan speed.
- To turn the fan OFF, slide the lever all the way down to the 'OFF' position.
Light Dimmer Control
- To turn the light ON, slide the right control lever upwards from the 'OFF' position.
- Slide the lever further upwards to increase light brightness.
- Slide the lever downwards to decrease light brightness.
- To turn the light OFF, slide the lever all the way down to the 'OFF' position.
Maintenance
The SDC15-W Fan/Light Control requires minimal maintenance. Ensure the power is off before cleaning.
- Clean the surface of the control with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Periodically check the mounting screws for tightness.
- No user-serviceable parts inside. Do not attempt to disassemble the unit.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Fan/Light does not turn ON. | No power to the control; Incorrect wiring; Blown fuse/tripped breaker. | Check circuit breaker/fuse. Verify wiring connections. Ensure power is restored. |
| Fan speed or light brightness does not change. | Incorrect wiring; Incompatible fan/light type; Control is faulty. | Verify wiring. Ensure fan/light is compatible (incandescent for light, standard ceiling fan for fan). Replace control if necessary. |
| Fan hums or wobbles. | Fan motor incompatibility; Fan balance issue. | Ensure fan is compatible with solid-state speed controls. Check fan blade balance. |
| Light flickers or buzzes. | Incompatible bulb type; Loose bulb; Overloaded circuit. | Ensure incandescent bulbs are used. Tighten bulb. Reduce total wattage if exceeding 300W. |
