4. Safety Instructions

  • Installation and maintenance should only be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local wiring regulations and standards.
  • Always disconnect power to the circuit before installing, servicing, or removing the timer.
  • Do not exceed the specified voltage and current ratings of the device.
  • Ensure proper grounding to prevent electrical shock.
  • Do not expose the device to moisture, extreme temperatures, or corrosive environments.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

5. Installation

The Orbis Mini T-D is designed for surface mounting. Follow these steps for proper installation:

  1. Power Disconnection: Before beginning any installation, ensure that the main power supply to the circuit is disconnected at the circuit breaker or fuse box. Verify with a voltage tester.
  2. Mounting Location: Choose a suitable, dry, and protected location for surface mounting. Ensure there is enough space for wiring and access to the dial.
  3. Secure Mounting: Use appropriate screws and anchors (not supplied) to securely fasten the timer to the wall or mounting surface.
  4. Wiring: Connect the electrical wires to the terminals on the timer according to the wiring diagram provided on the device or in its packaging. Ensure all connections are tight and secure. Typically, this involves connecting the incoming live and neutral wires, and the outgoing live wire to the load (e.g., light, fan).
  5. Enclosure: Once wiring is complete, ensure the protective cover is securely closed to prevent accidental contact with live parts.
  6. Power Restoration: Restore power to the circuit and test the timer's functionality.

6. Operation

The Mini T-D features a 24-hour analog dial for setting your desired ON/OFF times.

  1. Set Current Time: Rotate the entire 24-hour dial clockwise until the current time aligns with the small arrow or marker on the stationary part of the timer. The dial is marked from 1 to 24 hours.
  2. Program ON/OFF Times: The blue segments around the dial represent time intervals. Each segment typically corresponds to a specific time duration (e.g., 15 minutes). To set an 'ON' period, push the corresponding segments outwards. To set an 'OFF' period, leave the segments pushed inwards.
  3. Manual Override (if applicable): Some models may include a manual override switch (often a small lever or button) that allows you to temporarily switch the connected device ON or OFF, overriding the set program. Refer to the specific markings on your device.
  4. Automatic Operation: Once programmed and the current time is set, the timer will automatically switch the connected device ON and OFF according to your settings.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the timer with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the timer for any signs of damage, loose connections, or overheating. If any issues are found, disconnect power and consult a qualified electrician.
  • No User-Serviceable Parts: The internal components of the timer are not user-serviceable. Do not attempt to open or repair the device yourself.
