4. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials from the egg cooker and its accessories.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the transparent lid, egg tray, measuring cup, and omelette/poaching tray in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the main unit with a damp cloth.
  3. Placement: Place the egg cooker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from water sources and other heat-generating appliances. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Cooking Boiled Eggs

  1. Measure Water: Use the provided measuring cup to add the appropriate amount of water to the heating plate. The measuring cup has markings for different egg hardness levels (soft, medium, hard) and number of eggs. Adjust water quantity based on desired hardness and number of eggs.
  2. Pierce Eggs: Carefully pierce the larger end of each egg with the egg piercer located at the bottom of the measuring cup. This prevents the eggs from cracking during cooking.
  3. Place Eggs: Place the pierced eggs onto the egg tray. You can cook up to 8 eggs at a time.
  4. Cover: Place the transparent lid securely over the egg tray and main unit.
  5. Connect Power: Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet (230V).
  6. Select Hardness: Turn the control knob on the front of the unit to select your desired egg hardness (soft, medium, or hard). The knob has clear indicators for each setting.
  7. Start Cooking: Press the ON/OFF button. The indicator light will illuminate, and the cooking process will begin.
  8. Completion: Once the water has evaporated and the eggs are cooked to the desired hardness, an audible signal will sound, and the appliance will automatically switch off.
  9. Remove Eggs: Carefully remove the lid (steam will be hot) and then remove the egg tray using a heat-resistant glove or cloth. Immediately rinse the cooked eggs under cold water to stop the cooking process and make them easier to peel.

5.2 Preparing Omelettes or Poached Eggs

The CASO E9 Egg Cooker includes a special tray for preparing omelettes or poaching eggs.

  1. Prepare Mixture: For omelettes, whisk eggs with desired ingredients (milk, cheese, vegetables, etc.). For poached eggs, crack eggs directly into the tray.
  2. Add Water: Add the recommended amount of water to the heating plate (refer to the measuring cup for guidance, typically for 'hard' setting for thorough cooking).
  3. Place Tray: Place the omelette/poaching tray onto the egg tray.
  4. Cover and Cook: Place the transparent lid and start the cooking process as described for boiled eggs.
  5. Completion: The appliance will signal and switch off when done. Carefully remove the tray.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your egg cooker.

  • Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Heating Plate: Wipe the heating plate with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains or mineral deposits (limescale), use a small amount of white vinegar or a descaling solution specifically designed for kitchen appliances. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  • Removable Parts: The transparent lid, egg tray, measuring cup, and omelette/poaching tray can be washed in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before storing. These parts are generally dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for extended durability.
  • Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits may build up on the heating plate. To descale, fill the heating plate with a mixture of water and white vinegar (1:1 ratio) or a commercial descaling agent. Let it sit for 15-30 minutes, then wipe clean. Rinse thoroughly by wiping with a damp cloth several times.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the surfaces.
