1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your Shad X0SL58 Expandable Saddle Bags. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the product to ensure safe and efficient use. Retain this manual for future reference.
2. Safety Information
Always prioritize safety when installing and using motorcycle accessories. Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to the product, your motorcycle, or personal injury.
- Ensure all straps and fasteners are securely tightened before each ride. Loose bags can interfere with motorcycle operation.
- Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of the saddle bags (refer to specifications). Overloading can affect motorcycle stability.
- Distribute weight evenly between both saddle bags to maintain motorcycle balance.
- Verify that the saddle bags do not obstruct any lights, turn signals, or exhaust pipes. Maintain adequate clearance from hot components.
- Regularly inspect the bags and mounting system for wear, damage, or loose components.
- Use the included rain covers in wet weather conditions to protect contents.
3. Package Contents
Verify that all components are present in the package:
- 2 x Shad X0SL58 Expandable Saddle Bags
- 2 x Rain Covers
- Mounting Straps (quantity may vary based on specific motorcycle model and mounting kit)

4. Setup and Installation
The Shad X0SL58 saddle bags are designed for strap mounting on motorcycles. For optimal stability, it is recommended to use them with Shad saddlebag holders (sold separately) if available for your motorcycle model. If not, ensure secure strap mounting.
- Prepare the Motorcycle: Ensure the motorcycle is on a stable surface (e.g., center stand or paddock stand). Allow exhaust components to cool down completely.
- Position the Bags: Place the saddle bags on either side of the motorcycle's rear, ensuring they are clear of the exhaust, rear wheel, and any moving parts. The bags should sit symmetrically.

- Attach Top Straps: Use the adjustable straps located on the top of each bag. These straps typically run over or under the passenger seat. Secure them tightly to prevent movement.

- Secure Bottom Straps (if applicable): If your motorcycle has saddlebag supports or attachment points, use the additional bottom straps to secure the bags to these points. This provides extra stability and prevents the bags from swinging.

- Final Check: Before riding, gently pull and push on the bags to ensure they are firmly attached and do not interfere with any motorcycle controls or moving parts. Adjust straps as necessary.
5. Operating Instructions
The Shad X0SL58 saddle bags are designed for convenience and versatility.
5.1. Expanding Capacity
Each saddle bag features an expandable zipper. Locate the zipper running along the perimeter of the bag. Unzip it to increase the bag's volume, providing additional storage space. Zip it back up to reduce the volume when not needed.
5.2. Loading Contents
Open the main compartment zipper to access the interior. The bright yellow interior lining helps in easily locating items. Load items evenly and secure loose objects to prevent shifting during travel.

5.3. Carrying Handles
Each bag is equipped with a web handle for easy carrying when detached from the motorcycle.
5.4. Rain Covers
In adverse weather conditions, use the provided rain covers. These covers are designed to fit snugly over the saddle bags, offering protection against rain and moisture. Store them in the zippered pocket when not in use.

6. Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life of your Shad X0SL58 saddle bags.
- Cleaning: Clean the exterior with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Allow to air dry completely before storage.
- Storage: Store the bags in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
- Zippers: Periodically check zippers for smooth operation. Lubricate with a silicone-based spray if they become stiff.
- Straps: Inspect straps for fraying or damage. Replace if necessary.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your saddle bags, consider the following:
- Bags feel unstable: Re-check all mounting straps. Ensure they are tightened securely and evenly. Consider using additional bungee cords if your motorcycle setup allows for extra securing points.
- Difficulty closing zippers: Ensure the bags are not overpacked. If the zipper is stiff, clean it and apply a zipper lubricant.
- Contents getting wet: Verify that the rain covers are correctly installed and fully covering the bags. Check for any tears or damage in the rain covers or bag material.
