Operating Instructions
1. Starting Activity Tracking
To begin tracking your steps, distance, and calories, ensure the pedometer is in tracking mode. If the time is displayed, press the M (Mode) button once to switch to step tracking mode. The display will show "STEP" and the step count will begin from zero (or your last recorded count if not reset).

2. Viewing Your Data
Press the M (Mode) button repeatedly to cycle through the different display modes:
- STEP: Displays the total number of steps taken.
- DIST: Shows the distance traveled in miles or kilometers.
- KCAL: Indicates the estimated calories burned.
- TIME: Displays the current time.
3. Wearing the Pedometer for Accuracy
For the most accurate readings, it is highly recommended to clip the pedometer onto your waistband. Ensure the bottom of the pedometer is straight to the ground. If worn upside down or with the bottom facing upwards, the pedometer may not count steps accurately.

4. Clearing Data
To clear all recorded data (steps, distance, calories) and reset the pedometer to zero, press the SET and RESET buttons simultaneously. This will not affect your time, stride length, or weight settings.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
Wipe the pedometer with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
2. Battery Replacement
When the display becomes dim or the device stops responding, it's time to replace the battery. Refer to the "Battery Installation" section under Setup for instructions.
Troubleshooting
- Pedometer makes a sound when working: This is normal. The pedometer uses a mechanical sensor, and a slight sound indicates it is actively tracking movement.
- Inaccurate Step Counting:
- Ensure the pedometer is clipped securely to your waistband with the bottom straight to the ground. Incorrect positioning (e.g., in a loose pocket, upside down) can lead to inaccurate readings.
- The pedometer detects movement of your body. Shuffling or very slow movements might not be registered as steps.
- If the unit turns off while stationary, it will automatically turn on once movement is detected. This is a power-saving feature.
- Unexpected Data Reset: Ensure buttons are not being accidentally pressed or held down by clothing or objects. The data is cleared by simultaneously pressing the SET and RESET buttons.
