Operating Instructions
The Maclean MCE83 operates automatically based on the detected ambient light. There is an adjustable setting for the light sensitivity.
- Automatic Operation: The switch will automatically turn on connected lights when the ambient light level falls below the set threshold (dusk) and turn them off when the ambient light level rises above the threshold (dawn).
- Adjusting Ambient Light Sensitivity:
Locate the adjustment dial on the unit, typically marked with a sun and moon icon. Use a small screwdriver to rotate the dial to set the desired ambient light threshold for activation. Turning towards the sun icon generally increases the light level required for deactivation (lights off), and turning towards the moon icon decreases the light level required for activation (lights on).

- Indicator Lights: The unit may feature indicator lights (e.g., green for power, red for output active) to show its current status. Refer to the specific markings on your unit for exact interpretations.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the external light sensor probe to ensure it is free from dirt, dust, or obstructions that could affect its light detection capabilities. Use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the wiring connections for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections. Ensure the unit is securely mounted.
- Environmental Conditions: Ensure the operating environment remains within the specified temperature and humidity ranges to prolong the lifespan of the device.
