Operating (How to Play)
Game Objective:
The primary objective in Monopoly World Favorites is to be the first player to fill your passport with collected locations. Unlike traditional Monopoly, the game focuses on strategic card play and collecting destinations rather than bankrupting opponents with houses and hotels.
Turn Sequence:
- Roll the Dice: The player whose turn it is rolls both dice and moves their token clockwise around the board the corresponding number of spaces.
- Action on Space: The action taken depends on the space landed on:
- Unowned Location: If you land on an unowned location, you may buy it for the price indicated on the board. If you choose not to buy it, the Banker immediately auctions it to the highest bidder.
- Owned Location: If you land on a location owned by another player, you must pay them rent as indicated on their Property Card.
- Chance or Community Chest: Draw the top card from the respective pile and follow its instructions.
- Go to Jail: Move your token directly to the "Jail" space. Your turn ends.
- Just Visiting: If you land on "Just Visiting" (Jail space), you are safe and can move on your next turn.
- Free Parking: No action is taken; it is a safe space.
- GO: When you pass or land on "GO", collect the designated amount from the bank.
- Use Action Cards: This edition features special action cards that can be played during your turn to gain advantages or hinder opponents. Strategic use of these cards is key to victory.
- Fill Your Passport: As you acquire locations, you will mark them on your passport. The game ends when a player successfully fills their passport with the required number of locations.
The game is designed for 4 players and typically lasts between 30 minutes to an hour, offering a faster-paced experience than the traditional Monopoly game.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: To clean game components, gently wipe them with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or liquids that could damage the board or pieces.
- Storage: Store all game pieces, cards, and money neatly in the original box. Keep the box in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent warping or fading.
- Handling: Handle cards and money with care to prevent bending or tearing.
Troubleshooting
- Missing Components: If any components are missing upon opening the box, please refer to the warranty information for replacement procedures.
- Rule Discrepancies: In case of a dispute over a rule, refer to this instruction manual. If the manual does not provide a clear answer, players should agree on a house rule before continuing the game.
- Packaging Irregularities: Some users have reported minor variations in packaging, such as differences in box weight or component orientation. These are generally cosmetic and do not affect gameplay. If you suspect a manufacturing defect affecting playability, please contact customer support.
