4. Operating Instructions

This rice cooker is designed for simple, one-button operation to cook and warm rice.

  1. Measure Rice: Use the provided measuring cup to measure the desired amount of rice. One cup of uncooked rice typically yields two cups of cooked rice. The CR-0671V can cook up to 6 cups of uncooked rice (3 liters / 3.2 quarts capacity).
  2. Wash Rice: Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch.
  3. Add Water: Place the washed rice into the non-stick inner pot. Add water according to the markings inside the inner pot or use a 1:1 ratio (e.g., 3 cups rice to 3 cups water for white rice). Adjust water quantity based on rice type and desired consistency.
  4. Place Inner Pot: Ensure the exterior of the inner pot is dry, then place it securely inside the main rice cooker unit. Close the lid firmly.
  5. Start Cooking: Plug in the rice cooker. Push the 'Cook' switch down. The 'Cook' indicator light will illuminate.
  6. Cooking Process: The rice cooker will automatically cook the rice. Once cooking is complete, the 'Cook' light will turn off, and the 'Warm' light will illuminate. The cooker will automatically switch to the 'Keep Warm' function.
  7. Serve: Allow the rice to rest on 'Warm' for 5-10 minutes after cooking for best results. Use the provided rice spatula to fluff and serve the rice.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your rice cooker.

  1. Before Cleaning: Always unplug the rice cooker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Inner Pot: The non-stick inner pot should be washed by hand with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as these can damage the non-stick coating. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  3. Lid and Steam Vent: The inner lid and steam vent can be removed for cleaning. Wash them with warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry. Ensure the steam vent is clear of any rice residue. Reattach securely after cleaning.
  4. Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the rice cooker unit with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or immerse the unit in water.
  5. Accessories: Wash the measuring cup and rice spatula with warm, soapy water and dry.
