Maintenance
The NETGEAR Powerline 1000 adapters require minimal maintenance. Keep the adapters in a well-ventilated area and avoid covering them to prevent overheating. Do not plug them into power strips, surge protectors, or extension cords, as this can degrade performance.
Troubleshooting
- No Powerline Connection (Powerline LED Off):
- Ensure both adapters are plugged directly into wall outlets.
- Verify both adapters are on the same electrical circuit.
- Try different outlets.
- Reset the adapters by unplugging them for 10 seconds and plugging them back in.
- Slow Performance (Powerline LED Red or Amber):
- Move adapters to different wall outlets to find a better connection point.
- Avoid plugging adapters into power strips or surge protectors.
- Ensure no high-power electrical appliances (e.g., washing machines, refrigerators) are on the same circuit between the two adapters.
- No Internet Access:
- Check the Ethernet cable connections between the adapters and your devices/router.
- Verify your router/modem has an active internet connection.
- Perform a factory reset on the adapters (press and hold the Factory Reset button for 10 seconds). Note: This will clear all settings, including security pairing.
