Setup

Battery Installation

The TI-83 Plus calculator requires four (4) AAA batteries for operation. A small backup battery (CR1616 or CR1620) is also present to retain memory when the main batteries are removed.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the calculator.
  2. Slide the cover off.
  3. Insert four AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover.
