Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly install the battery hold down kit:

  1. Prepare the Battery Tray: Ensure the battery tray or mounting area is clean and free of debris. Position the battery securely in its designated location.
  2. Insert J-Hook Bolts: Locate the mounting points on your vehicle's battery tray. Insert the hooked end of each J-hook bolt into the designated holes, ensuring the threaded portion extends upwards on either side of the battery.
  3. Position the Clamp: Place the black plastic battery hold down clamp over the top of the battery, aligning the slots in the clamp with the threaded J-hook bolts. The clamp should rest firmly on the battery's top edges.
  4. Secure with Washers and Wing Nuts: Place a washer onto each J-hook bolt, followed by a wing nut.
  5. Tighten Evenly: Hand-tighten the wing nuts evenly, alternating between each side, until the battery is held firmly in place. Do not overtighten, as this can cause damage to the battery casing or the hold down kit components. The battery should not be able to shift or move.
  6. Verify Security: Gently attempt to move the battery by hand to confirm it is securely fastened and does not exhibit any movement.
