Setup and Assembly Instructions
Follow these steps to assemble your executive chair:
- Attach Casters to Base: Insert each of the five casters into the holes at the end of each leg of the chair base. Push firmly until they click into place.
- Insert Gas Lift: Place the gas lift cylinder into the center hole of the assembled chair base.
- Attach Mechanism Plate to Seat: Align the mechanism plate with the pre-drilled holes on the underside of the chair seat. Ensure the front of the mechanism (usually indicated by an arrow or "FRONT" label) faces the front of the seat. Secure with bolts and washers using the provided Allen wrench.
- Attach Armrests to Seat and Back: Attach the armrests to the sides of the chair seat and chair back using the appropriate bolts and washers. Do not fully tighten bolts until all are in place.
- Connect Seat and Back: Once armrests are loosely attached, align the chair back with the armrests and secure with bolts. Fully tighten all armrest and back bolts.
- Place Assembled Top onto Gas Lift: Carefully place the assembled seat and back onto the gas lift cylinder, ensuring the center hole of the mechanism plate aligns with the top of the gas lift. Press down firmly to secure.
Note: It is recommended to have two people for certain assembly steps.
Operating Instructions
Your Work Smart Executive Chair features several adjustments for personalized comfort:
- Pneumatic Seat Height Adjustment: To raise the seat, lift the lever located under the right side of the seat while taking your weight off the chair. To lower the seat, lift the lever while seated. Release the lever at the desired height.
- Locking Tilt Control: To allow the chair to recline, pull the lever (often the same as the height adjustment lever, or a separate one on the left) outwards. To lock the chair in an upright position, push the lever inwards.
- Adjustable Tilt Tension: The round knob located under the front-center of the seat controls the amount of force required to recline the chair. Turn clockwise to increase tension (making it harder to recline) and counter-clockwise to decrease tension (making it easier to recline).
Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Spot clean the faux leather upholstery with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect all bolts and screws to ensure they are tight. Re-tighten if necessary to maintain stability and safety.
- Caster Care: Keep casters clean of debris (hair, dust) to ensure smooth movement.
Troubleshooting
