4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The Fluke 374 FC requires two (2) AA batteries for operation.

  1. Ensure the meter is turned OFF.
  2. Locate the battery compartment cover on the rear of the meter.
  3. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw(s) securing the cover.
  4. Remove the cover and insert two AA batteries, observing correct polarity (+/-).
  5. Replace the battery compartment cover and tighten the screw(s) securely.

4.2 Initial Power-On

Turn the rotary dial from the OFF position to any measurement function to power on the meter. The display will illuminate.

4.3 Fluke Connect App Setup

To utilize the wireless capabilities, download the Fluke Connect app on your smartphone or tablet. Follow the in-app instructions to pair your Fluke 374 FC meter.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 AC/DC Current Measurement

  1. Turn the rotary dial to the “A” (Amps) position for AC current or “” (DC Amps) for DC current.
  2. Open the clamp jaws by pressing the trigger.
  3. Encircle a single conductor with the clamp jaws. Ensure the jaws are fully closed.
  4. Read the current measurement on the display.
  5. For DC current measurements, press the “ZERO” button before clamping to eliminate any DC offset.

5.2 Voltage Measurement

  1. Connect the test leads to the appropriate input jacks (COM and VΩ).
  2. Turn the rotary dial to the “V” (Volts) position.
  3. Connect the test probes across the circuit or component to be measured.
  4. Read the voltage measurement on the display.

5.3 Using the iFlex Flexible Current Probe (Optional)

The iFlex probe allows for current measurements in tight spaces or around large conductors, extending the AC current measurement range up to 2500 A.

  1. Plug the iFlex probe into the meter’s dedicated iFlex input jack.
  2. Turn the rotary dial to the iFlex position.
  3. Wrap the flexible probe around the conductor(s) to be measured. Ensure the probe is securely latched.
  4. Read the current measurement on the display.
