4. Setup

4.1 Connecting the Audio Cable

  1. Identify the audio input port on the left earcup of the headphone.
  2. Select either the standard audio cable or the cable with microphone, depending on your needs.
  3. Insert the 3.5mm jack of the chosen cable firmly into the headphone's audio input port.
  4. Connect the other end of the cable to the 3.5mm headphone jack of your audio device (smartphone, laptop, etc.).

4.2 Using Adapters

The package includes a VOIP adapter (often referred to as a computer adapter) and a phone adapter. These are used to ensure compatibility with devices that have separate microphone and headphone jacks, or specific phone configurations.

  • Computer Adapter (VOIP Adapter): Use this adapter to connect the cable with microphone to a computer with separate audio input (microphone) and audio output (headphone) jacks.
  • Phone Adapter: This adapter may be required for certain older smartphone models or specific configurations to ensure full functionality of the in-line microphone and controls.

4.3 Adjusting for Comfort

The SoundMAGIC P55 headphones feature an adjustable headband and soft memory foam earpads for a comfortable fit.

  1. Place the headphones on your head, ensuring the earpads fully cover your ears.
  2. Adjust the headband by sliding the earcups up or down until they rest comfortably on your head and ears.
  3. The closed-back design and soft earpads provide passive noise isolation.

5. Operation

5.1 Audio Playback

Once connected to your audio source, simply begin playback from your device. The headphones will reproduce the audio.

5.2 Using the In-line Microphone and Controls

If you are using the cable with the in-line microphone, you can control various functions directly from the cable:

  • Volume Control: Use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the playback volume.
  • Play/Pause/Answer Call: Press the central button once to play or pause audio, or to answer/end a phone call.
  • Next Track: Press the central button twice to skip to the next track.
  • Previous Track: Press the central button three times to go back to the previous track.
  • Reject Call: Press and hold the central button to reject an incoming call.

Note: Functionality may vary slightly depending on your connected device and operating system.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the headphones with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, alcohol, or chemical solvents, as these may damage the finish or materials.
  • For earpads, gently wipe with a slightly damp cloth and allow to air dry completely before use.

6.2 Storage

  • When not in use, store the headphones in the provided hard case to protect them from dust, scratches, and impacts.
  • Avoid storing in extreme temperatures or high humidity.

6.3 Cable Care

  • Avoid sharply bending or twisting the cables.
  • Always grasp the plug, not the cable, when connecting or disconnecting.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 No Sound

  • Ensure the audio cable is securely connected to both the headphones and the audio source.
  • Check the volume level on your audio device and on the in-line controls (if using the microphone cable).
  • Test the headphones with a different audio source or device to rule out device-specific issues.
  • Ensure the correct audio output device is selected on your computer or playback device.

7.2 Microphone Not Working

  • Ensure you are using the cable with the in-line microphone.
  • Verify that the cable is fully inserted into both the headphones and your device.
  • If connecting to a computer, ensure you are using the VOIP adapter and that the microphone input is correctly selected in your computer's sound settings.
  • Check the microphone privacy settings on your device.
  • Test with a different application or device.
