3. Setup Guide

Setting up your TP-Link TL-MR6400 router is a straightforward process. Follow these steps to get your 4G LTE Wi-Fi network up and running quickly.

3.1. SIM Card Insertion

Before powering on the device, insert your Nano SIM card into the designated slot on the back of the router. Ensure the SIM card is correctly oriented as indicated by the diagram next to the slot.

3.2. Power Connection

Connect the provided power adapter to the router's power port and then plug the adapter into a standard electrical outlet. The router will automatically power on.

3.3. Initial Connection

Wait for the router to fully boot up. The LED indicators on the front panel will light up, indicating power, Wi-Fi status, and 4G LTE signal strength. Once the 4G LTE signal indicator is stable, your router is ready to provide internet access.

You can connect to the router wirelessly using the default Wi-Fi SSID and password printed on the label at the bottom of the device. Alternatively, you can connect a computer to one of the LAN ports using an Ethernet cable.

5. Operating Instructions

Once set up, the TL-MR6400 operates as your primary internet gateway. It allows up to 32 devices to connect simultaneously, providing stable and fast internet for various activities.

5.1. Connecting Devices

To connect a device (smartphone, tablet, laptop, smart TV, etc.) to the router's Wi-Fi network, search for the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) on your device and enter the Wi-Fi password. Both are found on the product label.

5.2. Managing Network Settings

For advanced settings and network management, access the router's web management page. Open a web browser and type http://tplinkwifi.net or the router's default IP address (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) into the address bar. Log in with the username and password (default is admin for both, or as specified on the product label).

From the management page, you can:

• Change Wi-Fi SSID and password.
• Configure parental controls.
• Set up guest networks.
• Monitor connected devices.
• Update firmware.

• Slow Internet Speed:
  • Relocate the router to a spot with better 4G LTE signal reception.
  • Ensure no background applications or devices are consuming excessive bandwidth.
  • Check for firmware updates.
• Wi-Fi Disconnections:
  • Ensure your devices are within the router's Wi-Fi range.
  • Change the Wi-Fi channel in the router's settings to avoid interference from neighboring networks.
