Setup and Installation

Physical Installation

The AP240 is designed for ceiling mounting. Use the provided mounting bracket, screws, and anchors to secure the device to a suitable ceiling location. Ensure the chosen location allows for optimal Wi-Fi coverage and is within reach of a network cable connection.

Powering Options

The AP240 supports multiple powering options for flexible deployment:

• 802.3af PoE+: Power the device directly through an Ethernet cable connected to a PoE+ switch.
• 48V Passive PoE: Use the included 48V Passive PoE adapter to inject power into the Ethernet cable.
• 12V/1A DC Power Supply: Connect the device to a standard 12V/1A DC power adapter (not included, but the port is available).

Operating Modes

The AP240 supports various operating modes to suit different network requirements:

• AP Mode (Access Point Mode): This is the default mode. The device acts as a central hub for wireless clients, extending your existing wired network wirelessly. It bridges the wireless and wired interfaces.
• Gateway Mode: In this mode, the device functions as a router, providing NAT, firewall, and other routing functionalities. It is suitable for small networks where the AP240 serves as the primary internet connection point.
• Repeater Mode: The device extends the range of an existing wireless network by receiving signals from a main router and re-transmitting them.

Web Interface Configuration

Accessing the Web Interface

To configure your AP240, you need to access its web-based management interface:

1. Connect your computer directly to the AP240 using an Ethernet cable, or connect to its default Wi-Fi network.
2. Open a web browser and enter the default IP address: 192.168.188.253
3. When prompted, enter the default username (if any) and password: admin

Basic Wi-Fi Settings

• SSID: Change the network name (SSID) for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
• Password: Modify the Wi-Fi password from the default "66666666" to a strong, secure password.

• Encryption: Ensure WPA2-PSK or WPA3-PSK encryption is enabled for network security.
