1. Important Safety Information
Read and understand all instructions and warnings before operating this heater. Failure to follow these instructions may result in fire, explosion, serious injury, or death.
- Ventilation: Always provide adequate ventilation when operating this heater. This heater consumes oxygen. Do not use in unventilated areas.
- Carbon Monoxide: This heater produces carbon monoxide, which is an odorless, colorless gas that can cause death. Install carbon monoxide detectors in enclosed spaces where the heater is used.
- Fuel: Use only propane gas. Do not use other fuels. Ensure all gas connections are tight and leak-free before operation.
- Clearances: Maintain minimum clearances from combustible materials. Keep the heater at least 30 inches (76 cm) from the top, front, and sides of any combustible surfaces.
- Operation: Never leave the heater unattended while operating. Do not operate while sleeping. Do not use for cooking or drying clothes.
- Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the heater. The heater surface becomes very hot during operation.
- Automatic Shutoff: This heater is equipped with an Automatic Low Oxygen Shutoff System (ODS) and a tip-over switch for safety. If the heater shuts off unexpectedly, refer to the troubleshooting section.
- Storage: Store propane cylinders outdoors in a well-ventilated area, out of reach of children.

3. Setup Instructions
3.1 Unpacking and Inspection
- Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Inspect the heater and adapter for any signs of damage. Do not use if damaged.
- Ensure all packing materials are removed from the heater before use.
3.2 Connecting a 1 lb Propane Cylinder
- Ensure the heater's control knob is in the 'OFF' position.
- Screw the 1 lb propane cylinder into the swivel regulator on the side of the heater. Hand-tighten only. Do not overtighten.
- Check for gas leaks using a soapy water solution. Apply to connections; bubbles indicate a leak. If a leak is detected, tighten the connection or replace the cylinder. Do not operate with a leak.
3.3 Using the Propane Tank Refill Adapter (Optional)
The included adapter allows for refilling 1 lb propane cylinders from larger tanks. Follow the adapter's specific instructions for safe refilling. Always refill outdoors in a well-ventilated area.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Lighting the Heater
- Ensure the propane cylinder is securely connected and there are no leaks.
- Push and hold the control knob in for 30-60 seconds to purge air from the gas line.
- While still holding the knob in, rotate it to the 'PILOT' position. The igniter should spark and light the pilot flame.
- Continue to hold the knob in for 30 seconds after the pilot lights to allow the thermocouple to heat up.
- Release the knob. If the pilot flame extinguishes, repeat steps 2-4.
- Once the pilot is stable, rotate the control knob to the desired heat setting ('LOW' or 'HIGH'). The main burner will ignite.
4.2 Adjusting Heat Output
The heater features a single control knob for adjusting heat. Rotate the knob between 'LOW' and 'HIGH' to select the desired heat intensity.
4.3 Shutting Down the Heater
- Rotate the control knob to the 'OFF' position.
- Allow the heater to cool completely before handling or storing.
- If storing for an extended period, disconnect the propane cylinder.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures safe and efficient operation of your heater.
- Cleaning: Keep the heater's exterior clean. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Ensure the burner and pilot areas are free of dust and debris.
- Storage: When not in use, store the heater in a dry, protected area. Disconnect the propane cylinder and store it separately in a well-ventilated outdoor location.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the gas connections and hose (if using an external tank) for wear, damage, or leaks. Replace any damaged components immediately.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Heater will not light. | No fuel, air in gas line, faulty igniter, pilot orifice clogged. | Check fuel level. Purge air by holding knob for 30-60 seconds. Ensure igniter sparks. Clean pilot orifice if necessary (consult professional). |
| Pilot lights but main burner does not. | Control knob not held long enough, low gas pressure. | Hold control knob in for 30 seconds after pilot lights. Ensure adequate fuel supply. |
| Heater shuts off unexpectedly. | Low oxygen (ODS activated), tip-over switch activated, low fuel, poor ventilation. | Ensure adequate ventilation. Check fuel level. Ensure heater is on a stable, level surface. |
| Low heat output. | Low fuel, partially clogged burner. | Check fuel level. Clean burner area. |
