2. Safety Information

Always observe basic safety precautions when using power tools and accessories. Failure to do so may result in serious personal injury or damage to the equipment.

  • Read all instructions: Before assembly or operation, read and understand all instructions in this manual and the Triton TWX7 Workcentre manual.
  • Secure attachment: Ensure the outfeed support arm is securely attached to the TWX7 Workcentre before use. Loose components can cause instability.
  • Stable workpiece support: Always ensure the workpiece is adequately supported by the outfeed arm to prevent tipping or unexpected movement during cutting operations.
  • Maintain clear workspace: Keep the work area clear of obstructions and ensure adequate lighting.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE): This includes safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves as required by the specific task.

5. Operating Instructions

The TWX7OS Outfeed Support Arm provides adjustable support for various woodworking tasks.

  1. Adjust Extension: The chrome-plated extension bars can be pulled out or pushed in to adjust the reach of the support arm. Extend the bars to a length that adequately supports your workpiece. The maximum outfeed extension from the table centreline is 670 mm.
  2. Support Workpiece: Position the workpiece onto the extended support bars. Ensure the workpiece is stable and level with the Workcentre's table surface.
  3. Perform Operations: With the workpiece securely supported, proceed with your cutting or routing operations on the TWX7 Workcentre. The outfeed arm is particularly beneficial for long rip cuts or when handling large panels, preventing the workpiece from tipping or dropping after passing the cutting tool.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your TWX7OS Outfeed Support Arm.

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe down the outfeed support arm, especially the chrome-plated extension bars, with a clean, damp cloth to remove dust and debris. This helps prevent corrosion and ensures smooth operation of the adjustable bars.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect all mounting hardware for tightness. Re-tighten any loose screws to maintain stability. Check the extension bars for any signs of damage or excessive wear.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the outfeed support arm in a clean, dry environment to protect it from moisture and potential damage.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your TWX7OS Outfeed Support Arm, consider the following:

  • Instability: If the arm feels unstable, ensure all mounting screws are securely tightened to the TWX7 Workcentre. Verify that the Workcentre itself is on a stable, level surface.
  • Difficulty Adjusting Extension Bars: If the extension bars are stiff or difficult to adjust, clean them thoroughly to remove any accumulated dust or grime. A light application of a dry lubricant may help, but avoid excessive lubrication that could attract more dust.
  • Workpiece Tipping: Ensure the extension bars are pulled out far enough to adequately support the entire length of the workpiece. For very long or heavy workpieces, additional support may be required.
