Important Safeguards

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

Setup

Before first use, please follow these steps:

  1. Remove all packaging materials, stickers, and labels from the appliance.
  2. Wash the inner pot, steam tray, rice measuring cup, and serving spatula in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  3. Wipe the exterior of the cooker base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the cooker base in water.
  4. Ensure the inner pot is completely dry before placing it back into the cooker base.
  5. Place the rice cooker on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface, away from walls and cabinets to allow for proper ventilation.

Operating Instructions

Cooking Rice (White or Brown)

  1. Using the provided measuring cup, add the desired amount of rice to the inner pot.
  2. Rinse rice thoroughly until the water runs clear.
  3. For white rice, fill water to the line in the inner pot that matches the number of cups of uncooked rice. For brown rice, refer to the specific brown rice water lines.
  4. Place the inner pot into the cooker base and close the lid securely.
  5. Plug the power cord into a 120V AC wall outlet.
  6. Press the White Rice or Brown Rice button. The corresponding indicator light will illuminate.
  7. The cooker will automatically begin cooking. Once cooking is complete, the cooker will switch to Keep-Warm mode.
  8. For best results, allow rice to rest on Keep-Warm for 5-10 minutes before serving. Stir with the serving spatula.

Steaming Food

  1. Add approximately 2-3 cups of water to the inner pot.
  2. Place the steam tray into the inner pot.
  3. Arrange food evenly on the steam tray.
  4. Close the lid securely.
  5. Press the Steam button. The indicator light will illuminate.
  6. Monitor food and remove when desired tenderness is reached.
  7. To steam food while cooking rice, add water and rice to the inner pot as usual. Place the steam tray with food on top of the rice during the last 10-15 minutes of rice cooking.

Slow Cooking

  1. Add ingredients for your slow-cooked dish to the inner pot.
  2. Close the lid securely.
  3. Press the Slow Cook button. The indicator light will illuminate.
  4. The cooker will automatically set to a low cooking temperature. Cooking time will vary based on the recipe.
  5. Once cooking is complete, the cooker will switch to Keep-Warm mode.

Sauté-Then-Simmer Function

  1. Add a small amount of cooking oil to the inner pot.
  2. Press the Sauté-Then-Simmer button. The indicator light will illuminate.
  3. Add ingredients to be sautéed (e.g., onions, garlic, meat). Stir frequently.
  4. Once ingredients are browned or softened, add liquids and other ingredients for simmering.
  5. The cooker will automatically switch from sautéing to simmering once liquid is added and the lid is closed.

Using the Delay Timer

The 15-hour delay timer allows you to program the cooker to start cooking at a later time.

  1. Add ingredients to the inner pot as desired for your chosen cooking function (e.g., rice, slow cook).
  2. Press the Delay Timer button. The indicator light will flash.
  3. Press the Delay Timer button repeatedly to adjust the delay time in 1-hour increments (up to 15 hours).
  4. Once the desired delay time is set, press the cooking function button (e.g., White Rice, Slow Cook). The delay timer light will remain solid, and the cooking function light will flash.
  5. The cooker will count down the delay time and then automatically begin the selected cooking function.

Proper care ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your rice cooker.

Cleaning

  1. Always unplug the cooker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Remove the inner pot and steam tray. Wash them in warm, soapy water using a sponge or cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads as they may damage the non-stick coating.
  3. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  4. Wipe the exterior of the cooker base with a damp cloth. Never immerse the cooker base in water or any other liquid.
  5. Clean the condensation collector (if applicable) regularly.
  6. The serving spatula and measuring cup can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher (top rack).

Storage

Ensure all parts are clean and dry before storing. Store the cooker in a cool, dry place.
